Sigh. I KNEW coming into this game that Pitt was going to win. College football always ends up ultimately getting ruined by newer high ranking teams losing to stupid teams like Pitt.

I wouldn't say "ruined."  I'd prefer this to Miami getting steamrolled by Bama in the playoffs.

Miami is better that I thought they were, but they're definitely worse than a lot of other people seemed to think they were.

Geez that 4th down call...  ?

Pitt has an impact for the second year in a row.

As an OSU fan, you know the committee will find any way to get y'all in.

All this Pitt win did was to guarantee that there will not be two ACC teams in the playoff.

Now, this Miami loss as knocking down another pin to get tOSU in the CFP is another issue totally. It helped the Buckeyes.

FYI, going into this weekend, 70 of the 78 bowl slots were taken by 6+ win eligible conference teams.

More conference slots will be determined with games with 5-win teams:

Cal@UCLA

Indiana@Purdue

Colorado@Utah

I think MTSU@Old Dominion is an auto bowl bid game too. So that would leave just four bowl slots remaining.

Already on Friday, Buffalo got to six wins after beating Ohio.

Here's kinda of the list:

Duke (5-6) - @ Wake Forest
Florida State (4-6) - @Florida, vs. Louisiana-Monroe
Georgia Tech (5-5) - vs. Georgia
Indiana (5-6) - @ Purdue
Louisiana-Monroe (4-6) - vs. Arkansas State, at Florida State
Louisiana-Lafayette (5-5) - vs. GA Southern, @ Appalachian State
Louisiana Tech (5-6) - vs. UTSA
Minnesota (5-6) - vs. Wisconsin
New Mexico State (4-6) - vs. Idaho, vs. South Alabama
Temple (5-6) - @Tulsa
Texas Tech (5-6) - @Texas
Tulane (5-6) - @SMU
UNLV (5-6) - vs. Nevada

Yeah that section me point is more what I mean. The last time Pitt won a game like this, Ohio State backed their way into the National Championship game.

This UCF/USF game is great!

These squads are basically even talent wise as their 2 and 3 (with the occasional 4) star kids within a 80 mile radius.

Even with a 10-1 Miami team, this game is likely the two best teams in the state and tomorrow's FSU@UF is the battle of the worst*.

*-FAU and Lane Kiffin are ballin' and about to be 2000's Fresno State/Southern Miss good.

And your newest CBS/FS1/ESPN college football analyst.....Bret Bielema.

You're gonna get $12M from Arkansas via Walmart and Tyson Foods, no need to take a new coaching gig and offset that $$$. None.  Just take a TV gig, decompress for a season 15-20 lbs. over that year.

Even FIU is bowl eligible, while the loser of FSU-UF won't be. Wild.

Shout out to the Little Rock ABC affiliate for cutting to a weirdly long segment about Bielema's firing right in the middle of the USF-UCF game. Hey guys, it was obvious he was getting fired, no need to run a way-too-long segment about it during the middle of a game that's actually important and exciting.

Probably the best AAC game ever.

If UCF goes undefeated and still doesn't make the playoffs, then it's official that G5 school won't ever be able to make it.

The committee can still claim that UCF has one less data point as they canceled a game with Georgia Tech due to Hurricane Irma.

That was possibly the best game that I've ever seen UCF play. Incredible.

Regarding the CFP: They obviously won't make it [UCF], but I still think they should. They are easily one of the best teams in the country.

Beat Memphis
