Draft picks are ridiculously over valued in the NFL.

Edit: But if he plays well in Jacksonville, it can turn into a fifth rounder! Wow!

There has to be more to the story. Dareus has had attitude problems, yeah?

Anyway, Buffalo is Hinkie-ing the NFL draft seemingly at the expense of actually winning. Like making the playoffs would be inconvenient this year.

Surprisingly, the Bills are suddenly holding a hard line on Anquan Boldin, which is good because no one else can reliably catch passes. Maybe he'll play after all.

To be fair, McNair was just using a cliche to express his point. Why should everyone go around worrying about if they're accidentally going to offend someone all the time?

Anyone offended by what he said has serious issues. His word choice was poor, I guess, but he obviously wasn't calling his players, or any players, inmates.

Really? Like, for real? You can't see the issue with what he said? He didn't even say the analogy right! (It is asylum, not prison.) Let me break it down:

1. African-Americans, both in the NFL and real life, get called thugs and criminals all the time with no justification.

2. The owners were talking about players, those who protest and those who do not, this whole meeting.

3. Through this analogy, these players are considered criminals to these owner's prisons. Essentially saying that these players should have no power and that their opinions and thoughts have no value.

If you say something to make an entire team almost walk out of practice, maybe it's time to consider if what you said was really the best thing to say, and also how you can avoid making yourself look foolish like this again.

Suspended this week, Marshawn went back home to Oakland Tech.

Quote

Lynch, who is currently serving a one-game suspension by the NFL, posted a video to Instagram on Thursday of himself practicing with the team at his former high school. Lynch, wearing shoulder pads and his Raiders helmet, takes several handoffs in the video, stiff-arms a defender on one play and is wrestled to the ground by several defenders on another.

Section 503.C of the California Interscholastic Federation bylaws states that: “Only 9th through 12th grade students may practice with or compete on a high school team.”

The Boldin situation was super weird, and I'm glad the team isn't just releasing him. He signed a one-year contract, and then retired THIRTEEN days later. Now, he wants to unretire only two months after that? I don't like how NFL contracts normally seem to work against players, but I'm on the team's side on this one. The Bills could use a receiver, and you signed a contract on August 7th; just play in Buffalo.

Marcell Dareus was very talented, but inconsistent and lots of dumb off-the-field stuff like being late and street racing a teammate. Didn't seem to be a "team" guy. His contract probably also played a role, but I'll admit I don't know how much a DT should be making.

First off, I took it way out of hand with the "serious issues" part of my post, and I sincerely apologize. That was extremely wrong and disgusting on my part and just a flat-out incorrect statement.

Anyways, everyone has a right to their opinion, and I respect yours, but I still am having a tough time understanding why this is a big deal. The meeting was organized in order to discuss what to do about the anthem protests. If an owner does not want his players to kneel, then why should they be allowed to? The owner is the boss, he should be able to make the rules for his organization and all of his employees. The players are employees of the owner, hence, the players are not in charge, and are subject to discipline at the owner's discretion for not following his rules. That is what McNair was trying to say. He was not attacking black people with his comment. Again, he could've said it in a more ideal way, but it is hard to remember every different way of saying the same analogy. Thus, labeling McNair as a racist I think would be incorrect.

So, I know this treads dangerously close to the "political" talk we're not really supposed to partake in here, BUT, this is a sports logos and uniforms board, so this is kinda relevant to the topic, so...

Hidden just to prevent anyone who wants to avoid this talk from having to see/read this.

Option #2 FTW, please. Just because it's so absolutely in our specific wheelhouse.

I have no opinion on the particular matter at hand FWIW.

Trubisky throws a dime to TE Zach Miller, who makes the catch and gruesomely breaks his leg/knee in the process.  They then go to commercial, during which time the officials overturned the call (with no evidence whatsoever) and Miller is likely done with professional football.

It's perhaps the worst overturn on review in NFL history.
