I was actually... kinda happy the Eagles won in the end. I'm honestly sick of Brady and the whole pretty boy-don't make direct eye contact- Tony Robbins act. At this point after seeing 2 SB wins I'm rooting for people not teams. Foles is an utter beast, as is Pederson, as is Ertz, just a good group all-around that played their *bleeps* off and deserved to bring a win to a winless fanbase.

Plus whenever they show the 100 year olds that are waiting for a title so they can just die already always puts me on a massive guilt trip.

Overall, one of the best SB games to sit and watch in a while. Good luck to the Philadelphia Police Department.

So, now that Nick Foles is the MVP, doesn't he get a new car or something? Also... Nick Foles is the MVP and the Eagles are Super Bowl Champions.

Let this sink in... There are fans in Dallas, New York and Washington probably cursing up a storm right now.

Do we still have any idea why Malcolm Butler was benched? Granted this game was an astronomically weird offensive throw-down on steroids all over the scoreboard, yardage, records, etc., but I can't help but wonder if he could've made a difference in that for NE's favor. Surely after the defense got burned with long passes and TDs Belichick would've put him back in if he thought that he could or should.

The Pats are two terrible coaching meltdowns away from having lost five Super Bowls.

The Patriots, as a franchise, are a measly .500 in the Super Bowl. That'll help keep me warm as I fall asleep tonight.

In some Twilight Zone style  :censored: for me, a former Arizona Wildcat just led the Philadelphia freaking Eagles to a Super Bowl win and I absolutely could not be happier. I didnt think that was possible, and I doubt it'll ever happen again.

It just goes goes to show one very simple truth about life. It's the little things.

Dunno, but he said they"gave up on him" which means probably some kind of rule break that he promised not to do again, and Belichick didn't buy it. Just speculating, but it seems most likely.

By the way, just in case anyone gets stupid, Tom Brady is still the greatest QB of all time and the Belichick/Brady Patriots are the greatest NFL dynasty of all time. The Eagles had to basically play a perfect game in order to win today, and even then it still came down to the last play and the entire stadium was clenching its butt cheeks when the ball was in the air.

EDIT: changed "franchise" to "dynasty."

Rumor going around is that he was late to practice & caught with weed.

Still Just a rumor though.

With how garbage both teams defences were, I'm not sure he would have made that much of a difference anyway,

Exactly. Their dominance as a dynasty is reflected in how close and down-to-the-wire their three SB losses are and just how excellent the teams that beat them those three times had to play just to edge them out. Even then those teams had to get some timely breaks and, more importantly, completely capitalize on them 100% of the time to make them mean anything. 41-33 being their "worst" deficit of defeat is wild.

If this somehow ends up being the last SB appearance Brady/Belichick and Co. make as a dynasty, even in defeat it's a last hurrah for the books that plenty of franchises would kill just to get even close to it.

While I'm not in or from the DC area, as a Washington fan I'm happy for the Eagles right now. I'd assume the vast majority of non-Patriot fans are as well, including fans of the other NFC East teams. This is their first Super Bowl win, and they had a great game and a great season , so good for them.

I don't like the idea of sticking a microphone in the losing players' faces immediately after the game, but I especially don't like asking these guys retirement questions 15 minutes after the game and the making a story of their answers.
