Changes to Titans uniforms in 2018 are 'not minor'

The schemes are different enough that it doesn’t matter. Ain’t nobody going to be confusing one for the other or accusing ten of playing dress up.

How are they competing with Dallas for fans? That don’t compute to me.

America’s Team?

I really hope their helmet isn't silver. The Titans still have to battle with the Cowboys for fans and playing dress up would be a bad look.

I fear they're going to look more like the Patriots than anything. Patriots with a splash of Columbia Blue.

Tennessee was Cowboys territory for quite a long time before the Titans came to Nashville. My family are from Memphis (other side of the state) and they and a lot of their friends never even considered rooting for “Texas’s other team” when the Oilers moved.

I grew up in Nashville and was a young kid before the Titans relocated. Back then on most Sundays you were guaranteed to see the Cowboys on the NFC network and the Dolphins on the AFC network.  I was a big Dolphins fan prior to the arrival of the Titans. As you mention, the Cowboys are still popular in Memphis.

i have a feeling these unis will be underwhelming if you’re expecting major changes

After months of fearing Nike would ruin these, I can't believe I'm now cautiously optimistic that these will be a minor evolution and could actually just fix the major issues with the Titans' uniforms (bad number font, awful helmet stripes) and little more.

But Amy Adams Strunk said the changes will not be minor. Doesn't that mean major? Are there steps between minor and major?

I'm getting the same vibe as you from the teasers, but I just don't know why she'd make a point of saying that if the changes are, in fact, minor. Just to drum up interest? Possible.

I wouldn't put a ton of stock into that quote. She's also said things like the old jerseys won't look out of place next to the new set. A lot of the buzz now has become that the changes are more subtle than many might have thought. Still noticeably different, but nothing like gradients or a complete color scheme change.  I obviously can't confirm any of that, but the video and "tradition evolved" tagline seem to point to that as well. I am thinking that the biggest change will be seen with the helmets, which is what most people disliked about the current set anyways.

What would we consider "major" or "minor"?  Moving the TV numbers from the shoulders to the sleeves? Getting rid of one of the three pairs of pants? Adding silver as a quid pro quo for retiring an existing pair of pants? Introducing a #ColorRush set in a never-seen color like red or silver? Changing the color of the helmet?

The silver in the Titans uniform... hmmm best way to put this... think a Titan from Greek mythology wearing armor.

You’ve ignored every attempt on my end to take you up on your offer to show your “insider info” with a mod.

You’ve ignored two public requests and one request made over PM. Either put up or shut up.

Not to mention, I don't think the titans in greek mythology actually wore armor. Weren't they usually portrayed with very little or no clothing at all?

This is not a design concept they should pursue.

Even the LFL is moving away from that.
