Changes to Titans uniforms in 2018 are 'not minor'

Sure, but there are examples on both sides of that argument.

These monstrosities are beloved by the fans of the team;

Hate on the Seahawks look all you want, comparing it to that old Bills uniform doesn't add up.

The Patriots are a classic example of a dated uniform that remains because of franchise success. The Seahawks have a polarizing look, but it isn't crappy/lazy/inconsistent design.

I hated, but now love, this look. I just wish they'd do the same monochrome look on the road. Simply white jersey, white pants, white socks. So all blue at home, all white on the road (except for the helmet).

I've come to think it's okay. By far the worst of their 3 looks, though.

I think... there are good pieces to build on, but there are also glaring flaws.

The sleeve/chest design seems forced and inelegant in the space that it’s in. The numbers are pretty nice, but the patterning inside and on the helmet are overkill. Every piece of the uniform uses the signature formline icon in a different way and at a different scale, which devalues it for me.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

the Titans official twitter sent out these images today of Dion Lewis' and Malcolm Butler's new uniform numbers...could this be the new jersey font?

Yeah I think that's a safe bet.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Looks like they've used that font for a while. Here's a tweet from 2017 preseason. Check out the 2 and the 1 in 2017. Same font as what is shown in the tweet about Butler.

The new numbers would be an upgrade. However, the hate for the old numbers is far too strong... Number sets worse than the Titans’ old/current ones:

Bucs

Jags

Dolphins

Eagles

Ravens

Browns

Chargers

Cardinals

Broncos

...and you could also make a case against Steelers, Lions, Vikings, Bengals, and Seahawks as well.

As a Jags fan I despise the Titans. 32 out of 32 for me, but that font is outstanding.

Yeah thats REALLY good.

Im also warming up to the idea of a darker helmet shell.

It's hard to overstate what an upgrade that number font would be. Titans would go from possibly the worst number font in the NFL (Bucs maybe have the edge) to one of the very best.

It's very easy to overstate it because this new font is actually pretty bad.

To the naked eye, it looks like the LA Kings font, but there's no way they'd use that exact font in this age of contrived customs.

Not only do I like their current unis, but they're a major improvement over their Reebok set.

I actually think this set needs to be monochromatic to work... all the pattern details, striping, bright green, etc. work best with a monochromatic backdrop. Different-colored pants provide too much contrast.

I don't think there's any real causation.

These unis were first worn by arguably the best team in Sabres history. Fans still revolted and the look was ditched within four years.

The Bills clung to these "drought duds" for nine seasons without any major fan objections.

You’re oversimplifying. There’s myriad reasons why looks catch on or don’t, but the on-field success can be one of them IMO. It’s a very complicated equation.

We might be making slightly different points. I simply disagree that teams purposefully cling to unpopular looks because they happen to win while wearing them.

The slug was proof that no matter how successful a team is while wearing a uni, if the fans disapprove enough, it goes away.
