I saw the Titans wearing this and fell in love. I want them to keep the helmet logo. I think it's a modern classic. My ideal Titans uniform would be like this: Baby Blue top and White bottom.

I wish the Titans wore this combo more often. This is beautiful.

First of all, I say keep the Oilers history in Houston. Stay away from Oilers designs. The team's history and uniforms need to stay where they belong. I'm okay with them keeping the color scheme, but anything else is unnecessary.

What the Titans really need to do is embrace the RED. Obviously, the dark blue home should stay the primary home uniform. But maybe add some blue stripes. Add a primarily-red logo to put on the shoulder. If the NFL continues this Color Rush program (which they will) then make a red color rush uniform. They use the red so little. Its about time they use it more.

Can anyone explain what the Titans' current logo is supposed to be?  A fireball?  A comet?  If it's a shield, why is it on fire?  It just doesn't seem to fit with the Greek Titans identity.

I can't get over the thought that the designers probably just threw flames on it because they thought it looked "cool," just like all the middle-aged men who painted flames on their PT Cruisers in the 2000s.

To reinforce the likelihood of seeing a lot of greek-inspired elements in this refresh, here's a new mascot(?) that the Titans debuted at yesterday's game:

A lot of subtle flame elements are incorporated in the helmet and battle axe, and the axe itself is very reminiscent of a "T". The back cape features a flameless-thumbtack surrounded by the Greek pattern, which I believe may have been designed here actually. His reception was positive, although he wasn't given a ton to do.

Once again, it likely means nothing as the designer said he had a week and a half to create the costume, but things have been moving this direction lately with the team.

I am all for changing the T sword to a T battle axe, looks effin' badass. I like the greek elements as well. This could be a good sign .....I hope.

anyway, that mascot's new "logo" sure reminds me a lot of the concept i made in madden for the titans a few years ago.

Why the seriffs only on the I? They bug me - I'd go sans seriff there as well.

That's probably exactly what happened.

Designer 1: "Here's a concept based on Tennessee's state flag."

Designer 2: "Hmmm... it's missing something. Needs more oomph."

Designer 1: "What other elements can we insert in?"

Designer 2: "I got it! RANDOM FLAMES EVERYWHERE!!!1!1!"

Executive: "Amazing! Kids will think this logo is DA BOMB! You're a genius, Designer 2!"

Designer 1: Hands in resignation to go work as a part-time waiter at Applebee's.

And this is why I'm glad the design world has moved well beyond where it was in 1999...

The current logo is a fireball. In Greek Mythology, Prometheus (who was a Titan) gave fire to humans. The local tie in is that Nashville is know as the Athens of the South. There is a full scale replica of the Parthenon in Nashville.

I don't mind the tie in to Greek Mythology. I'm a season ticket holder and have been a Titans fan since the beginning. I hated the primary logo when it was unveiled and I've hated it ever since. It never grew on me. The off-center flame bugs the crap out of me and the thumbtack in the middle looks like a kindergartner drew it . I prefer the sword, which gets very little usage. I was hoping they'd go that direction, but when Amy Adams Strunk was questioned about it at the first hint of a uniform change, she acted like she had no idea that most fans preferred it.

Honestly, I'm a big fan of traditional, minimalist uniforms, and I'm scared :censored:less about what I'm hearing as far as new uniforms go.

I love the look they had on Sunday. It's by far the best combination in the current set. The Titans should never wear navy pants at home with their current set. Improve the helmet stripe and the uniform font and it'd be perfect.

One kinda crazy idea I had for the Titans is to combine elements of the two latest Packers throwbacks.

Home-Light blue helmet. Navy uniform. Light blue shoulder yokes, keep their current white pants. For the front of the jersey, put the numerals(colored navy)inside a light blue shield with three stars. The numerals on the back would be light blue with no trim..the shield would have the meander pattern on it's outside boundary.

The road uniform- White, light blue shoulder yokes. navy shield with three stars, and the number in light blue. navy numerals on back with light blue trim. navy pants.

Titans should throw away the white helmet and go with a matte Columbia blue helmet.

Matte helmets are an ugly fad that should remain at the level of college, high school, and semi-pro football.  No helmet will ever look better as matte or chrome.

My primary concern with the Titans is that they, because of reasons, imbue their uniforms with an unhealthy dollop of black/gray/pewter/gunmetal/whatever-darkish-color, rendering the wonderful light blue color a secondary or possibly tertiary element.  I don't think they'll do this, but the worry is there.

Employing designs from Greek culture is fantastic, as the "Athens of the South" thing is unique to the area, just stay colorful and embrace the light blue.

I still think the Titans have a REALLY strong set. If they were to fix the helmet stripe (or even just make the helmet stripe the pants stripe, unpopular opinion I'm sure, but it would work), and ditch the shoulder yoke (which has basically transformed into more of a shoulder stripe over the years anyway), they'd be great. Underrated flaming thumbtack logo and all.

There’s already an Athens in the south, and it’s more associated with football than Nashville.

Would it be so bad? We have enough teams with shades of blue or red as the base color.

Actually, Andrew, there's two--and the other one does a much better job of [civic] branding itself:
