I think he was referring to this, which I think was originally worn with the first green set (2001-2005) as an alternate, then became the main home uniform from 2005-2007, at some point during which time they took the ray off the sleeve.

The sportslogos.net database actually isn’t much help here, as it shows the 2005-2007 sleeveless home uniform with the ray on the sleeve, but it was definitely worn without it at some point.

Like officially? I feel like you could just get sloppy and have some with/some without the sleeve logo.

We are going to get along great.

However irrelevant it is, and being that the devil ray was always on the cap, if Iremember correctly. They in fact did not wear a devil ray on their sleeve at some point in 2007 when going with the vest.images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSVwRMDfN0TqG0l51Wh8fZ

The official MLB graphics as depicted on Dressed to the Nines don’t show it on the undersleeves for any year. I’m wondering if they just informally stopped putting it on the undersleeves as players started wearing more varied styles of undershirts.

I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry

Based on that photo I would assume that would be the case.

Yeah especially when you think about that era as kind of the start of moisture wicking fabric and the whole Dri-Fit Under Armour thing

The Rays identity is that of rays of sunshine. They only wear the devil ray animal on their sleeve as a nod to their previous identity. They're not trying to be both. We've already gone over this. Are the A's trying to be elephants because they wear an elephant sleeve patch? It's the same thing.

The Reno Aces now wear subliminated shoulder patterns like their parent club the Dbacks? When did this happen? This is new for 2018 if I'm not mistaken. (I know this is a minor league team but I thought it pertained more to the DBacks identity trickling down their organization than to the Reno Aces themselves, I could be wrong)

This is new for this year apparently. I played with the Aces forever in MLB The Show 17 after getting drafted by Arizona, and I always thought they had a great set, but now it's ruined.

I think then if it was a nod,  they should've only done it for a season or two.

Or they could just get rid of that sunburst and be about devil rays again.

Since their previous identity is a "ray", and their current one is a "ray", it's nothing at all like the A's situation.

They literally switched from the fish ray to the sun ray but never dropped the fish patch.  I'm honestly not sure why it's hard to see the difference.

This is the second or third season they've worn those navy jerseys. I think the red jerseys were a special event, not worn regularly. The white jerseys are new for 2018.

Wait, the Reno Aces have been around for TEN YEARS now? ?

I went to their first ever game and it feels like yesterday.

The managers face (and name) says it all... how unfortunate.

Great news.  Maybe it can get pushed back another year.  And another after that.  And....

yeah the only downside to this is if we're getting heathered road unis and those are getting pushed back too, however I'd make the "no chest logo for no heathered grays" trade every day of the week.
