They got the sleeves wrong. Should be shorter.

Didn’t Griffey cut his sleeves for the game?

The original jerseys were actually sleeveless, with some players like Griffey wearing the cut off undershirts underneath, and some players wearing more conventional undershirts:

And if you look closely, it looks like this year’s jerseys are actually sleeveless as well:

I weirdly wouldn’t mind if the Mariners wore that as a regular alternate. Astros have the Rainbow Guts alt they wear to throw back to an equally silly time, why can’t the Mariners do the same with the TATC set?

Because it's the future. If I took you out of a 1990s Dbacks, Marlins, Rays gm and dropped you off at a 2018 gm, you'd see they changed colors.

I think you’ve missed the point where a TATC promotion in 1998 has turned into a TBTC promotion in 2018.

It'd be cool if teams came out with new TATC jerseys that reflect modern scifi concepts but then that's not how nostalgic cashgrabs work.

Yes!  My idea of TATC is like a Tron suit with reflective stripes.  No big logos or numbers

"To do then, now, would be retro. To do then then, was very now-tro."

A Mighty Wind spends so much time being good that there's not enough time left to be funny. But it did give us "Hey, wha happen?"

Maybe I'm just blinded by nostalgia, but those TATC jerseys don't look as bad as I remember.

The 1998 game was good because they were not on a cookie cutter template that was mass reproduced. Although I collect TATC jerseys I cant wear them because of the goofy half sleeves. For a short while I had a Griffey Tatc and frequently wore it with a long sleeve black shirt. It looked somewhat normal and not completely absurd.

The Mariners should have a special Turn Ahead The Throwback night where they just come out in their current jerseys and act like it's something special.

Guy 1: “How can we do a promotion to draw more fans to games?”

Guy 2: “What about a throwback night?”

Guy 1: “No, we want to do it without spending money on new jerseys”

Guy 3: “Boy do I have an idea for you!”

A brilliant film right up until the very last minutes, where it unfortunately ends on a sour note with a really lazy and totally unearned trans joke.
