How come Freehan and Lolich have their sleeve numbers on the opposite sleeves?

It's not just these two.  Google "1968 Tigers" for more evidence.

I've been wondering about this for a while, and Google has no answers.  Anybody have any idea why this is?

Batting stance, perhaps? Lefties on one side, righties on the other, kinda like the ear flap?

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Most catchers are right handed. Probably an issue of uniforms being done at different times duringthe year by different seamstress companies.

Except Freehan was a right-handed catcher and Lolich was a LHP, so I think it could've been the batting stance and having the number face the CF TV cameras.

They were made by different manufacturers. If you get a good look, the left sleeve numbers are MacGregor's font, the the right sleeve ones are the standard MLB block sans serif font for front numbers. MacGregor, Wilson and Rawlings all made Tiger uniforms, and often were intermingled by the equipment staff.
