I honestly have no idea what to make of the Cubs.  It all depends on which version of them shows up on any given day.  They're arguably better than they were last season, which is weird to say, but defending the title?  This is unfamiliar territory.  I guess we'll just find out, and I hope along the way baseball's hatewagons will only invigorate with every Cubs win.

The Dodgers are pretty much the Golden State Warriors of MLB. There's no stopping them, and the whole postseason is simply a formality. These playoffs will be dull unless you love complete domination.

Depends on what team shows up, tbe team that looked like the 1998 Yankees or the team that looked like they couldn't beat the Bad News Bears

*I feel like this is the only one I really need to explain. The Nationals have demons and Dusty Baker who has demons and who knows how hurt Scherzer is. It's always tough to play with those things haunting your brain, especially when your opponent doesn't. The more relaxed team wins 9/10 games in the postseason. Cubs in 5.

As far as the Indians, they have all the pieces from last year's run, plus they're healthy and they have Encarnacion this time. They're better than they were last year. I'd be stunned if they don't at least make it back to the World Series.

Just going to copy my prediction from the regular season thread.

WC
Yankees vs Twins
Diamondbacks vs Rockies

LDS
Red Sox vs Houston - Houston in 4
Yankees vs Indians - Cleveland in 5

Cubs vs. Nationals - Cubs in 4
Diamondbacks vs Dodgers - D'Backs in 5

LCS
Astros vs.Indians - Indians in 7
Diamondbacks vs. Cubs - D'Backs in 6

World Series
Diamondbacks vs Indians- Indians in 5

I still think Arizona is a major dark horse, but after that 22 win streak It's hard to argue against Cleveland winning it all.

Red Sox: 8    Celtics: 17    Bruins: 6    Patriots: 5

Pretty chalky outside of D-Backs/Dodgers. I don't like how the Dodgers have looked recently, and the D-Backs have performed surprisingly well against them this year (11-8 with a +28 run differential head-to-head).

You mean pure awesomeness. Go Twins!

My own bias aside, two teams that finished, what, six games worse than their opponent making the playoffs because they won a single isolated game at the end of the season? That would make an absolute mockery of MLB's already heavily-flawed playoff system.

Wild Card:

MIN v NYY

COL v ARZ

NLDS:

CHC v WAS

COL v LAD

ALDS:

MIN v CLE

BOS v HOU

NLCS:

CHC v LAD

ALCS:

HOU v CLE

WS:

HOU v CHC

----------

Although I would happily take a championship run from MIN, COL, HOU, and CLE.  They are all okay in my book, even if it comes at the Cubs' expense.
