New Florida Gators Unifrom

My friend thinks they look, quote, "lit".

He also loves the Jaguars helmet and said he hopes that's the one thing they keep when they change.

Sometimes I question my life choices.

I didn't realize there was a dedicated thread so I posted this picture in the other thread, but here it is.  If it wasn't already clear what they were going for, it should be now. It's still ugly but I think it looks a little better in natural light. I'd be fine if they wore a blue version of this with the pattern a bit more subdued in the future, but the pants have to either match the helmet or continue the pattern.

Sign an Adidas deal and you're good.

As if these uniforms weren’t already :censored:ty enough, it looks like the helmets will have numbers on the side opposite of the Gator head decals:

We've seen so much of this zany stuff that honestly it has no affect or impact on me anymore, but clearly it does with impressionable kids. It's all the same crud, same visor to try and look intimidating as they strike the same hand over hand sticky glove pose. Just so *yawn* at this point. I really don't notice anymore nor do I care to fight it. The stupid kids love it so let them dress in their clownsuits.

I think continuing the pattern onto the pants would've looked worse.  Patterned pants in general are a bad look in sports.  If it were me, I would've made the pants the dark green color seen in the jersey pattern.  Use a shiny pants material and it would mimic the helmet color fairly well.  It could really tie the uniform together.

Also, putting the logo on one side of the helmet and the number on the other is such a bad trend.  Ruins any helmet.

I agree with you that the best look would have been making the pants dark like the helmet.  The logo on one side thing wasn't completely unexpected given their white helmets have the script on one side with a logo on the other.

The uniforms have grown on me a little bit.  I think they look way worse in the studio shots than they do in the stadium shots, which makes me hope they don't look too terrible on Saturday night.  And if they help with recruiting... well, sign me up.

I know actual Gators don't tend to be kelly green, but for some reason seeing these uniforms kinda makes me want to see Florida wear a jersey that is green with orange and blue accents.

Not happening, for obvious reasons.

The recruiting theory is overblown. Alabama doesn't seem to have problems with recruiting and they wear two jerseys. Penn State's idea of alts was to add numbers to its helmets this year, and they're cleaning up in recruiting and doing well on the field. Oregon has worn 1,000, and their recruiting and program have taken a nosedive since Chip Kelly left.

There are alternate uniforms because these schools know they can sell them as merchandise. Plain and simple. If a player chooses your school because of uniforms (and I'm skeptical about how often that really is because uniforms seem to fall behind how much under-the-table benefits they can get, how they like the coaches, academics in some cases, and possibly a girlfriend going to the same school), I'm not sure I want that guy on my team.

This uniform would have been much better if the pattern had continued to the pants. As is the jersey and pants look like two separate colors.

I was thinking just the opposite.

This uniform would have been much better if the pattern hadn't continued out of the designer's head.
