Could make for a really interesting look.
Gothamite
The Third Rail, the NYCFC supporters group, is using a gray and sky blue scheme for their membership materials next year. A clue? Love this color scheme. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Digby
A little torn on that NYCFC tease -- love that color scheme and MLS could use more gray, but that particular color scheme looks a little bit Minnesota United to me. Interesting in general that it seems like the kits are coming much earlier this year than they have in recent years. Getting ahead of leaks for a change? Or maybe they've got the manufacturing logistics a little more sound this time? The grey is just a hair lighter, but very similar.
Gothamite
And if this was a permanent scheme, that would be a problem. But I don’t see any issue with overlap on a short-term clash kit. I think there's only one true clunker in the league, that 1990s crayola badge right in the middle. And there's one truly awful name, if not identity, in Salt Lake. But that's pretty damn good. And considering these are the two frontrunners to join, it might only get better. Yeah, the MLS has to be the best US league design wise. Of course, New England throws it off. But look at the improvements since ‘96. It’s incredible! When the MLS came about, most teams had looks that are an afterthought now. But how about names like Metrostars, Mutiny, Clas and Burn? Those names sound like extreme lacrosse league names. And some teams still have that. The Crew? Revolution? But the MLS has made significant strides in the right direction. Hope they can keep it going. Oh yeah. Then there was The Kansas City “WIZ”

Gothamite
Red Bulls going back to red jerseys for the first time in a decade. Is that last year’s template? Simple, classic. I like it. Digby
That’s kind of a weird rendering to me, but yeah, the intent still isn’t coming across. It’s weird because I think simple works well for the Revs. But this just doesn’t read as the same team to me. Gothamite
Here’s a closer look again, from the club. Those stripes would be great were they red; I don’t understand the three shades of blue. hendocfc
LOL @ Red Bulls marketing Sweden's kit design as "bespoke"... Sad! NE looks... random, looks like they didn't really put any effort or thought into this one.
Digby
Yeah, agreed on the red. Weird step back. Revs had probably my favorite kit set back in 2015, now down to my least favorite. Thematically PERFECT, given that the Krafts historically haven't put any effort or thought into operating their MLS franchise.
upperV03
New teaser images for the Timbers’ new secondary: Based on this and the first teaser, it looks like there'll be subtle perforated mesh hoops on the front, with a green collar and cuffs with gold piping.
