Jacksonville Jaguars Concept - Teal Pants!

As we all know by now, the Jaguars sported their teal jerseys this weekend, and they looked fantastic (as can be with the current look). Surrounding the game, there was some talk here and there (on here and other places), but the Jaguars should wear teal pants, or gold pants, or other concept ideas. I wanted to try them out and put together a few different concepts.

 

I think it's important to see these type of designs on both a flat template and a realistic photo, as it gives a chance to see the designs and changes in multiple ways.

 

The first one I did was teal jerseys with teal pants. 

 

 

For some reason, many people want to see gold pants. So, yea ...

 

 

I added a teal helmet to both of these designs as well (only realistic photo, no template for these)

 

 

After sharing these online, a request was made to pair the white and black jerseys with teal pants.

 

 

 

I gotta say, I really like the appeal of the teal pants. Much more so than I thought I would. I think the all teal with teal helmets isn't a bad look, but the teal helmet might be a bit overkill, especially if it goes back to a traditional glossy finish.

As nice as i think their colors and jerseys elements are,  they can never seem to get it right, from the helmet trainwrecks to the all gold few years back. 

My opinion on the concept? I love the idea of them emphasizing the teal instead of the black and gold, I especially like the white and black tops with teal bottoms.

Also keen to seeing that rumored update they’re coming out with.

Yeah, Jags need to go teal. Really push it and in this upcoming update to the uniforms (rumored updates), they should make the teal home and the black as an alt. These are nice unis, but I dont like the gold pants. All teal looks great!!

Looking at all the options here, I've come to the conclusion that teal pants would only look good with the black jerseys. There, they balance out the color distribution along with the teal sleeves on the jerseys. 

 

With the other two jerseys, the teal pants only serve to make that helmet stick out like a sore thumb. And anything that calls attention to that dumpster fire of a helmet is far from optimal.

When I made the image, I was trying to figure out why I liked it or not. My first thought was the shoulder caps as well. But I think that, even with the black caps, the teal numbers on the whites do just as good a job as the teal caps on the blacks tying the pants to the whole thing. I would agree it looks better with the black tops as opposed to the whites, though.

I think Jacksonville only made one mistake, one "trainwreck," as you call it, with the helmet. And that's the current look. The previous two helmets - the all black, and the all black with teal flakes - looked fantastic.

 

The rumors are going to be slow for a while now that they're out. I think the most accurate rumor is the helmet will be fixed. It will be solid, I would almost guarantee that. What color and finish? That's TBD
