ldconcepts
I'm participating in my second Logolympiad this year... Hopefully I'll improve on last year's showing! For now, I'll post my entry for Event 1 for some C&C. I'm not the best in logo creation, but I decided to have a go at the first event, creating a league logo for the fictional PFF. The general idea I had was to make the wordmark in the shape of a football, but I decided to keep the outline of the football itself. Looking back, I would have liked the strokes to be thicker and figured out a better way to fit the full name around the ball. I received two gold and one silver vote. What do you think? NoE38_Concepts
I really liked the idea for this. This was in my upper half of the entries, and probably would have given it gold it the execution was better and the two logos were more similar. The way the font arches on the full name logo is a little odd to me. @noe38concepts (Instagram - Twitter)
ldconcepts
I also entered Event 3, the goal of which was to create an alternate uniform for the Pacific Coast League. This was my first foray into baseball uniform design, and I was ultimately satisfied with the result. I earned two gold, two silver, and one bronze vote. I chose the recently rebranded Nashville Sounds. I started with a red jersey, and replaced all the logos' red with white. I put their "Music City" logo in front, and based the striping on the type. On the shoulders, I sublimated six guitar strings, although that may have failed to come across with the 2D template. C&C appreciated for both entries! Dan O'Mac
My biggest complaint with your uniform was that it just looked to "Cincinnati Reds" to me. I like this.
ldconcepts
I also entered in Event 5! I considered this my strongest event yet, but unfortunately I received no votes. C&C Appreciated! NoE38_Concepts
It definitely is a good logo, but so was the competition. I would have added something to do with Ottawa to make it more connected to the city hosting rather than the country. I also think the top was a little heavy. Still a good logo. @noe38concepts (Instagram - Twitter)
walkerws
Yeah. It was on my shortlist, but the negative, for me, was it looked like a Grey Cup logo. Not a slight on you, but a way for me to whittle down entries.
Whittier S
It's a strong logo; it was just stiff competition.
ldconcepts
Here's my entry for Event 6: I converted St. John's logo into a soccer logo, and matched the striping with the logo. I was ultimately happy with my entry, but only received one bronze vote. C&C Appreciated! Whittier S
This was well executed. My personal preference is for the clash and primary to be more distinct from each other. Clashes "clash"; they're a little more out there.
Dan O'Mac
When I got down to my votes, because this was definitely in the running, it was stripe on the shirt that led me to eliminate it. The stripe itself was great, but would be marred by the sponsor logo that the team would add. So I feel that there could've been a solution that would've let that stripe shine even after the sponsor. I like this.
ldconcepts
I also entered Event 7, and while logo design isn’t my strong point by any means, I admit this one felt rushed. I received two bronze votes. C&C Appreciated! Twitter: @ldconcepts / Instagram: @ld.concepts / Website
Whittier S
I liked the idea, but the dimensions are so far from square that it doesn't really work as "main" (primary or alternate) logo.
Dan O'Mac
My biggest issue with this logo was the tail, as it's so small comparatively. I like this.
