Wow thats messed up. Id expect that out of a European/Asian clubs supporters group but not in Canada.

They get their fan ethos from the Croats, right?  I'm...not surprised.

Was scrolling through my channel guide, and to my surprise there was a Liga MX game airing on FS1. Is this a new TV deal? Is Fox/FS1 still going to air Bundesliga games in addition to MLS and Liga MX?

FOX aquired English language rights in the USA to the games of Monterrey along with English and Spanish rights for Tijuana (aka Xolos). They've been running a Xolos documentary for the past week or so. Remember, clubs have their own rights to sell.

The Bundasliga North American rights are still with FOX for this season and next.

It's Serie A which is in flux as both ESPN and Turner are inquiring about them with Juventus getting Ronaldo an beIN doesn't have rights this season.

Justin Meram possibly moving to Cincinnati. I know he's had a rough time since moving but seeing what some of the fans have said, I'd want out with a passion too. Pretty sad to send death threats and tell a guy he looks like he's a cancer patient.

Is it me or have Orlando fans been involved in a relatively high number of dumb dramas given their relatively short existence? Who could've guessed Orlando, of all places, would be a hooliganism hotbed?

They've had problems with stupid fans and out-of-control SGs going back to the USL days.

It's been talked about for days but it's a pretty big sale heard the final number is actually close to $20 million.

Davies stays 'till the end of the MLS season.

As a Canadian, I'm optimistic that this will be a good move for Davies and thus be good for the national team.

Frankly, if you act like that at a sporting event you should be banned from all sporting events (I know it's not possible to enforce).

Don't ruin it for everyone else.

All sports? Bans from individual venues aren't even easy to enforce. Change hairstyle, shave facial hair, wear colored contact lenses, dress differently, have somebody else purchase the tickets for you, put on face paint, or just wait a while until security forgets your face (which from what I've been told is about 3 weeks). I've seen all of those tactics work by people that were banned from stadiums/arenas lol.

Facial recognition software makes that a lot harder to fool.

But who the hell is stupid enough to violate a ban, knowing that the punishment for that is criminal trespass?  And MLS presses charges as a matter of policy.

You'd have to be an idiot to do that.  Then again, consider the people we’re talking about.

This is MLS we’re talking about, not the CIA ?

It’s actually not all that uncommon. We have a list a mile long of people banned from our park, and I’ve seen a bunch of them walking around at our games even with that. One of our main owners banned a fan for life from our park (over a reason that I, and basically everyone else, find to be downright detestable, but that is not at all surprising considering that “His Highness” felt slighted). It was such a hated move by the rest of the organization that he shows up to games and is personally escorted into our park by two of the other owners, in direct defiance of the first one’s wishes.

That’s different, though.  That’s not a real ban.

Because I assure you that MLS does use facial recognition.  At least at Yankee Stadium and RBA. I know of people who weee caught, removed, and prosecuted.  I know somebody who used to work in fan services with the Union, and he’s told me about people who were caught trying to avoid a ban there too.

Maybe the USL doesn’t, but that’s the difference beteeen the first and second divisions.  MLS takes this :censored: seriously.

First division has arrived in the dystopian cyberpunk future, while the second division may as well be run by the Amish.

Yes, in my opinion, all sports.

My point being that going to a sporting event isn't a right: it's a privilege.

Show up, cheer, eat whatever you want, sing with fans, have a few beers, paint your face, wave a flag.....the list goes on.

Everyone in the building, when buying a ticket, agrees to terms (I know, no one ever reads the mile long list) but when they violate it (and IMO ruin things for all the other people there) they should have that privilege taken away.

For example, I when I went to MLS Cup 2016 there was a TON of positives. The city was dieing for a championship team, the stadium was already expand (temporarily) due to the winter classic and the grey cup and there were a ton of people new to the sport who wanted to be there because Toronto finally had a team in a major championship game. It was great!

I was in my usual seats for TFC games but there were plenty of people around me in seats who weren't familiar faces (I'm in a supporter's section so it's usually the same bunch).

One person decided he needed to get extremely wasted before half time and threw up. We're talking spewing vomit that covered about 5 seats in our row and I'd guess another 20ish seats in the 3 to 5 rows in front of us.

In my opinion, this person (who was thrown out by BMO Field staff) had their chance like everyone else gets. They screwed up. Now they don't deserve the privilege of attending a sporting event anymore. We can debate if it should be all sporting events ever, just in the city, just at that venue. Whatever. My point isn't to start a debate on the level of severity.

Yes, I know "from all sports" is harsh and near impossible to actually execute, but It's just how I feel.

Edit: oh, and I'm glad to hear the input from @Gothamite, I wasn't aware MLS did that. That's great! Thanks for sharing :)
