T&Ps to @DG_Now.

I was there. I've never attended a game with as much drama. It's the reason you see live sports, you know?

Sucks the home team lost, but Portland played very well and deserved the win.

Shootouts are the best and the worst. I wouldn't trade 2016 for last night, at all.

Louisville City repeated as USL Champions last night with a 1-0 victory over Phoenix Rising.

Well, that couldn’t have worked out any better for Republic!

At least Toronto followed with the greatest MLS season of all time the year after, and vindication over Seattle. Thats pretty good.

Admittedly, that is why 2016 is easier to take in hindsight.

Oh good. I hope they beat the :censored: out of Portland.

Nope, not bitter at all.

Can they both lose? That’d be my choice.

Just saw on the news the Amazon will put one of it's new headquarters in the Long Island City section of New York City. Isn't that the same part of the city that NYCFC is trying to build a stadium? Would Amazon planting their flag in Long Island City effect NYCFC's chances of getting a stadium in any way?

No, I really don’t think so.

Two of the rumored NYCFC locations over the years have been adjacent to Long Island City, but it seems unlikely that Amazon is looking for the same kind of parcel that NYCFC is.

We don’t yet know Amazon’s plans, if they want a centralized campus or will simply lease a lot of the existing office space already there or under construction.  They might not even be in the market for one consolidated piece of real estate.  And even if they are, there’s a rumor that Citibank will not be renewing its lease on the original (and for years only) skyscraper in LIC, which might leave a perfect vacuum for Amazon.

So no, I don’t see it as impacting NYCFC’s stadium push, except in as much as it spurs more developers to jump in to an already-crowded real estate market.
