What is with those pants for Nevada? It's like the Dallas Cowboys pants but darkened, and with no sheen to them. If not for those this would be a 100% lateral move from the previous set.

Nevada chose to go with an older template cause its cheaper, Adidas doesn't gain much from a team using a template from 2 generations ago.

Well you can't get a whole lot cheaper than a one color font & nothing on the shoulders

These are terrible.

They are not good by any means. The last nike uniforms were very good due to the superior templates, shade of silver/gray and fonts. The only explanation that I could even understand is that they signed their deal so late in the year that this was all they could do to replicate the look from last season. Even with that being the case, it's still not acceptable.

Do you think that Adidas could make the identical jersey to what a team wore the season before but because it’s an adidas template it’s aleays going to be a downgrade?

That's not far from the truth. Their super-stretchy fabric and tire tread patterns ruin even the simplest designs. Why they can't just switch all their teams over to the template they've been using for the CFL is beyond me.

It’s crazy how FSU & BC are literally the exact same thing.

yes it got bad when bc dropped the black outlines and fsu went from white to gold numbers...it would be great if teams in the same conference could agree to differentiate from each other via helmet colors, striping, number colors etc.

Or like if one team would agree to wear their colored jersey while the other team agrees to wear their white jersey...

Interesting touch on the NC State uniform. Design from the state flag ghostmarked on the ribs.

These are going to be so cluttered and weird next year when they apply the new font. I really just don't get what the goal is with these additions after building a pretty cohesive brand identity (by modern day standards) during Doeren's first five years. I'm contemplating emailing a long critique to someone in the department, that would at least set my mind at ease.

I can't wait to look back fondly on the redneck state pride brand on the abdomen, the always tasteful wordmark on the pants leg of the same side, and the attempt to make the abandoned UCLA/Miami slitted stripes motif work (in the face of overwhelming evidence that it worked on no level.)

It’s an upgrade only because they replaced the stupid giant WOLF PACK mark on the front of the Home jersey with the more traditional NEVADA wordmark. Beyond that it’s probably a downgrade from their last set, which also sucked.

Both of my schools are now Adidas (ASU and Nevada) and they both look terrible.

This + the weird number font + the slits in the stripes + the stretchy fabric turned what could have been a really nice uniform into merely an okay one at best.

Also, seeing Adidas' new fabric up close, it looks remarkably like that weird textured fabric that everyone used to make fun of Russell for using a few years ago.

I'm referring to general identity/uniform designs being differentiated within a conference not when they play each other but thanks for chiming in.

I knew what you meant, but I don't think one team's identity should affect another's.. It should develop organically, independent of influence from other teams.. If something can be YOUR best look, you shouldn't let the fact that someone else uses something similar be a deterrent to you looking your best.. Sure, the gold sleeves pushed them even closer to FSU's new look, but they're each still unique in their own way.. Plus, it's never truly a problem, as the only time it could be an issue (when playing each other), the teams wear different colors..

The fact that both schools recently changed from semi-iconic looks is a bigger issue imo than the fact that they changed to similar-looking designs..
