Opening Day is postponed to Friday in Cincinnati, but at least this means I don't have to go through that weird ass day off the day after opening day.

Go figure. The Reds letting their fans down already and we havent even played a game yet.

They already goofed by holding the parade on Monday when the team will be 0-3 and nobody will care so this is just the cherry on top of the disappointment sundae. I would've been able to hang out at The Banks today, but I can't tomorrow. I am pleased to see that it is actually pouring today. It would've been so Cincinnati to plan a postponement in advance and then have a 60 degree sunshiny day instead of rain. At least they made the right call.

Im not putting the blame on the Reds for that one. Findlay Market closes in order to host the parade. Easter weekend happens to be one of their busiest weekends of the year and they didnt want to close. Id put the blame on them or on MLB for moving opening day to a Thursday rather than the traditional Monday.

Aaaaaand the VERY first pitch of the 2018 season is a Cubs home run vs the Marlins. Welcome to the Marlins, Jeter!

This guy is a real piece of work. His flamboyancy is just nauseating.

Marlins Man was 100% the guy on the team in high school who never played but always bragged about how good the team was.

Marlins Man is such a self-important ass.

Dude showed up in Cleveland (before the Cavs won), wearing a Marlins jersey — the team that inflicted the most painful loss in the whole montage of “Cleveland sports bad luck” we had to endure for years — and got all upset and offended that some Tribe fans (a) didn’t know who he was and (b) were giving him shtick for wearing a Marlins jersey in Cleveland to a game the Marlins weren’t even playing in.

:censored: that guy.

Is Derek Jeter buying a team he has no business owning, then gutting the team, and capping it off by gifting their franchise player to the Yankees the most despicable non-criminal story in sports? I think it is.

Stanton to The Yankees isn’t as shady as it sounds. They tried to pawn him off on the Dodgers or Giants but he wouldn’t have it.

But I still question The Yankees interest, because of course the one thing they were desperately missing was a big slugger:rolleyes:

The real scandal is MLB letting Jeter buy a team knowing he was going to blow it up again for like, the 4th time in like 10 years. Just when it looked like they could start showing some promise.

I honestly feel bad for Marlins fans. Going from an owner blowing everything up, to a new owner blowing everything up.

Stanton rejects Cardinals/Giants

Stanton traded to Yankees

Can I have the timestamps on those two things?

I do agree with most, if not all, of that. MLB giving the go-ahead to a consortium not in a position to adequately fund an MLB franchise is an affront to the entire league. They should have never approved that.

12/8/17, then 12/11/17. It’s not like it was a rapid-fire thing. I don’t see it as criminal as much as other people do. The organization was in horrendous debt before the purchase, and I doubt Jorge Mas’ capital would have been able to fix it while keeping the team together. The contract but the Marlins in the ass in the worst ways possible.

Thanks for proving my point (...it was a rhetorical question in any case). As much as I'm here for any competent conspiracy theories, the "Jeter bought the Yankees to give them Giancarlo" angle doesn't work. And, yes, I know the source in this case, but it's not like plenty of people who actually believe that haven't thought and posted the same elsewhere on the internet.
