The homer in me wishes we got Jazz/Cavaliers in 2007. I think the Jazz would’ve had a legit shot at winning it had that happened.

Aside from that, I think Brazil/Argentina in the ‘14 World Cup would’ve been really fun. I also remember wanting LSU/George Mason in the ‘06 Basketball national title game really bad.

1996: Colorado Avalanche vs Pittsburgh Penguins instead of the Florida Panthers.  2 high-flying offensive teams (they played to a 6-6 tie earlier that season) instead of the Avs crushing a clutch-and-grab Panthers team.

I still think the Avalanche win, but a Finals with Sakic, Forsberg, and Roy vs Mario and Jagr would have been incredible.

(Also, if the Panthers don't make it all the to the Finals, does the NHL devolve into the clutch-and-grab Dead Puck era, or possibly other teams emulate the high-flying offense of those 2 teams?)

Not really out of the realm of possibility yet, but I'd love an El Clasico UCL final.

No way, we'd hear more Messi vs Ronaldo for an entire month, then Benzema scores a hat trick.

Not on his current form, but yeah, point taken. Didn’t really think about that

I’d hate that but God it would be a great match.

Hopefully Bayern and Juve crash the party this year though.

A Jets/Bears Super Bowl XLV would've been nice. Mostly because the Jets would be up against Jay Cutler and not Aaron Rodgers. And there's a whole host of interesting NBA Finals matchups we were so close to seeing, like Sacramento/New Jersey in '02.

Yes, I'm both someone who hates historically successful franchises and a bitter Jets/former Nets fan. Sue me.

Holmes would've outboxed Norton a second time.

Holmes was robbed in the second Spinks bout, but Michael Spinks was ultra talented.

Pryor w/o Panama Lewis would've stopped Boom Boom Mancini.

Hagler/Leonard: As a teen, seeing the fight on closed circuit, I thought Sugar Ray won.  After seeing the fight again with a VCR version, I think Hagler won 7-5.

Oh damn, Ike Ibeabuchi was incredibly dangerous, in and out of the ring. He was a solid, entertaining fighter. He was the $hit! That David Tua fight was fantastic.

What I want to see again... Trinidad/DeLaHoya

You're a sick person Mac

Are you kidding?

Roy Jones, Jr. vs. Evander Holyfield would've been an absolutely epic match, no matter the outcome.  They say styles make fights, and those guys would've been perfectly matched to provide some serious pre-fight hype, a solid 12 rounds ('cuz neither would've knocked the other out), and likely a Bowe-Holyfield like trilogy when all was said and done.

Tony Bellew vs. Anthony Joshua?  That's a fight I'd pay to see today, and that's more than I can say for the Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua :censored:show they're trying to put together right now for later this year.

And David Tua vs. John Ruiz II?  That one I'll admit some sickness to.  I'd only be interested in seeing that if one of Ruiz's WBA paper heavyweight championships had been on the line.  Tua would've destroyed Ruiz again, snatched the belt away from him, and we'd never have heard of John Ruiz as a serious heavyweight again - which to me, would've been more than worth it.

Oh, and I'll throw one more in that I didn't think of listing earlier... Ike Ibeabuchi vs. Mike Tyson.

Disappointed we'll never get to see Sk8r Nick1733's 90MPH fastball in a World Series game.

On what planet is Joshua-Bellew a better fight than Joshua-Wilder?

I'm not saying I don't want to see Wilder-Joshua, nor even that Joshua-Bellew might be a better fight.

I do, however, think that with the exception of his most recent fight, Deontay Wilder's title should be the Heavyweight Champion of Alabama, and nothing more.  If he fights Joshua and beats him?  Maybe, maybe he reaches the stature of, I dunno, a Michael Moorer or a Tim Witherspoon.  But right now, based on the bulk of his opposition (Ortiz included)?  He ranks in a category of such esteemed titleholders as Gerrie Coetzee, Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tubbs and the illustrious Tony Tucker.
