Devils in 7 (Vasilevskiy's sloppy goaltending will cancel out Tampa's offensive dynamo, but he'll let up a huge goal at the end of game 7.)

The Minnesota/Winnipeg series will be interesting because Bruce Boudreau will be in the rare and unusual position of starting a series on the road and not a favorite.

This will mark the first time he is not coaching a playoff series with the team that has home ice advantage.

Yup, we’re about to see Playoff Underdog Bruce Boudreau.

I was referring more to retired numbers, and a rich history. In order, the Blues, Leafs, Sabres, Caps, and (to an extent) Canucks are teams where I don't envy the lot of their fans.

Rich history is fun and all but it’s not worth as much as you think without recent success.

Look. I get it. 1998-2000 sucks for the Perds, but guess what? They were a new expansion team. They were supposed to suck.

I’m just telling you that you’re having the wrong conversation with the wrong people. I don’t know very many Leafs fans who will go “yeah the Preds have it worse.”

As long as Toronto doesn't figure out a way to eff it up, their next Cup should simply be a matter of when, not if. Maybe a goalie move and a couple of seasons away.

Anderson’s not the problem but thanks I suppose...

Look, you very well could be right.

I’m just saying talk is cheap ;)

You can't have a Rite of Spring thread without some late 00's alt rock that can be used to describe the nature of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so

Ohhhh boy. American hockey fans, we are in for a treat. The first round TV schedule is out now.

Not only will we get games on NBC and NBCSN. Not only will we get games on NHL Network, CNBC and USA Network. For the first time, the Stanley Cup Playoffs come to...

The Golf Channel.

Yes. On April 18, Lightning/Devils Game 4 and Ducks/Sharks Game 4 will be broadcast nationally in the United States on The Golf Channel.

This league. Another new high.

Well one team at the end of each round is going to be playing golf, so I guess it’s kind of appropriate.
