An expansion team has to have some sort of growing pains. Vegas is playing like they've been in the league for a few years (maybe as long as Minnesota/Nashville).

I envision chaos if the Knights win the Cup - pissed off owners (consider that the Hurricanes' new owner paid the same price for that dumpster fire as Foley & friends did for the Knights), jealous fanbases, a league's reputation in tatters, etc. Hell, we're already 2/3rds of the way there.

You're going to see anger from 30 different owners, players, fanbases. Envy from every team that didn't win the Cup yet, embarassment from the team (at this point, most likely Tampa) if they lose to Vegas.

 

And meanwhile, Bettman's going to be doing this while Rome Toronto burns around him.
