He hit the biggest superstar in the league in the nuts.  You have to be insane to believe he didn't deserve a suspension, especially when he got off lightly after the OKC incident.

I always find it so fascinating that Warriors fans want to discredit the Cavs 2016 title because of Draymond missing one game while completely overlooking the 2015 title they won against LeBron and Matthew Dellavedova. And the 2017 title they won after gimping Kawhi. And the 2018 title after significant ref help and a lost Chris Paul.

Either all titles are equal or they aren't.

This league is such a pathetic joke right now. We have a generation of cowardly superstars now who refuse to compete.

Thanks, Kevin Durant! Hope the cheap rings were worth it.

Spoiler alert: They are.

Either all titles are equal or they aren't.

Not to mention, Draymond wouldn't have been suspended for the nut punch if he hadn't previously tackled Michael Beasley and kicked Steven Adams in the nuts earlier in the playoffs. He earned that suspension by racking up flagrant fouls with his dirty play.

I love how people bring that up as an example of the NBA "rigging the series for LeBron." What they're really mad about is that the NBA didn't rig the series against LeBron by not enforcing their own rules on Draymond.

Also: Kevin Love missed a game in the 2016 Finals as well. That always gets glossed over too.

 Something to consider:

The injury Cousins is recovering from is one that has killed NBA careers. My mind immediately goes to Elton Brand, who was around the same age as Boogie when he had the same injury and he was never the same. I hope the Warriors bring him back slowly for this reason..... I mean, Boogie's basically betting on himself to prove that he's worth a lot more money than teams were probably offering him. Is it a petty move? Yes. Does it kill competition? Yes. But does the move make sense for him? Once again, yes. It's sad to say this, but as much as I think he's a :censored:, I wish him the best of luck in Golden State mostly due to his injury.

I mean... a no-brainer for Golden State.

It is a potential headache for them, though, considering he's a head case who will have to make some pretty significant changes to his game to fit how the Warriors play on both ends of the court.

The Warriors are about to have the same issues Chicago had. Bench players that want starters pay will get it from other teams and after the starting 5 or 6 they'll have a big drop in class. Green will probably be gone after this year depending on what offers he gets elsewhere.

I don't disagree that the Pelicans played better basketball without Cousins (27-21 at the time of his injury, 21-13 without him) and that they were able to begin playing a more up-tempo style of offense that was better suited for the team they had. However, Cousins did average 25/13 and was playing at an All-Star level before he went down, hardly a "useless" player. There was no question Cousins took a lot of defensive pressure off of AD and gave them another outside shooter. He may not be the same player he was pre-injury for some time, but there's no way the Pels are going to get that kind of production out of Julius Randle or Mirotic. And I do think it will have an effect on AD's morale because he and Cousins appeared to genuinely enjoy playing with each other.

Cousins a terrible defender and can't make himself relevant if he's not one with the ball in his hands, scoring baskets. I've been over this. It's not a coincidence that all his teams in Sacramento were absolutely horrible despite him putting up the numbers he did. A team with both Anthony Davis and Cousins (if he were at all deserving of his reputation) on it should have been a lot better than the .500-ish team they turned out to be. Cousins is EMPTY NUMBERS.

For Golden State he's just going to be a slightly upgraded Mo Speights. Not a huge deal.

Two things:

1) You can’t be serious with this. That’s like saying KD is a slightly upgraded Harrison Barnes. While that may be true at it’s very core, you’re really under selling just how much of an upgrade that move is.

2) Mo Buckets was AWESOME for the Warriors. Even if what you said is 100% factual (it isn’t), it’s still a great move for that alone.

I know its trendy to hate on the Warriors right now, but this move made absolutely perfect sense for both sides. It gives the Warriors an All Star level upgrade at the one spot that they were slightly weak, and because they don’t need him back immediately, he can take his sweet time rehabbing and be in as close to top form as he’s going to be by the playoffs.

Also, I’m not at all worried about Cousins or his attitude. He’s a bit crazy, but if there’s one team that can reign that in, it’s the Warriors. Playing under a coach that’s both cerebral as well as focused is going to help his game tremendously. If you give him something positive to focus on, he’s shown in the past that he can thrive in that circumstance. The biggest reason he came across as such a lost cause for as long as he did with the Kings is because they’re an absolutely embarrassing joke of an organization that’s NEVER had even a remote semblance of direction. Anyone would have attitude issues playing/working under those moronic, sweaty, fools. You didn’t hear much about him having issues once he got to New Orleans, and that’s because the Pelicans aren’t the garbage stuck to the bottom of my old shoe like the trash Kings are.

As for DG’s last post, who’s at fault for that one? People keep trying to blame the Warriors for following what many consider to be a flawed system created by someone else. I believe there’s a saying about directing your anger not at the individual/club/ect, but at the very industry itself. Something about players and games.

I'm completely serious, Warrior fan/newest member of the Cousins cheerleading squad.

KD, unlike Cousins, actually deserves his star billing, and his impact on the game extends well beyond what he can do with the ball in his hands.

It is 100% factual (if it's not, then refute it), and I agree that Speights did his job well for the Warriors.

Haha. It's always someone else's fault. The Bay Area in a nutshell.

So, we have lived in the Atlanta area since 2011. My wife is a diehard Celtic fan, apparently she has no worries this fall! But l grew up in rural Missouri with no real NBA team, but l have latched onto the Hawks carefully.? Can anyone explain what this seemingly lost franchise is doing? We kinda want to go to a game this season, but should l just root for the opposing team? Any local help?

It's the union's fault, which is a hard pill to swallow for liberal outlets that want to be relentlessly pro-player. The refusal to distribute the new revenue across several years of salary caps is what allowed the Warriors to scoop up Durant, but nobody could countenance the thought of giving the hated (((owners))), and let's not pretend that subtext has never existed, any deal that would take immediate money away from the players. But you can't sign a new TV contract every year, so nobody else got a chance to get their own Durant.

Of course, the Warriors are always going to take it on the chin for this stuff more than anyone else because they've been unfairly made into the avatar of all tech-industry arrogance and opulence. You'd think Peter Thiel himself was coming off the bench to hear it from some people. But if Kevin Durant had exploited the loophole in service of LeBron James, it would have been perfectly acceptable, because the liberal sports media we all read worships LeBron James like a golden calf, even though a Durant-LeBron Cavaliers team would have been even more of a foregone conclusion than the Durant-Curry Warriors were.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The Wizards sign Dwight Howard and Jeff Green to actually give them a half decent bench. A starting five of Dwight, Morris, Porter, Beal, and Wall could actually be pretty good... at getting knocked out in the first round again.
