Ball doesn't have much trade value after his inefficient rookie year and the added headache of his idiot dad. Kuzma ought to be a decent 4th/5th starter on a good team but that's it. Ingram is the next Michael Beasley. Yeah LA could trade away all their firsts again but how valuable are those going to be with Kawhi plus at least one major free agent on the roster for the next few years? I don't see it. Off the top of my head, the Sixers and Celtics can outbid LA without even lifting a finger. Although I think trading for Kawhi would be a bad move for the Celtics. I think you’re missing a key fact: Kawhi has one year left on his deal and thus Kawhi’s personal preference matters quite a bit. What team would trade the bank for a player, only for that player to leave in free agency the following summer? Does it matter that another team would be able to offer a better deal to the Spurs if Kawhi’s going to leave in Free Agency no matter what? It’s been a poorly kept secret that Kawhi wants to play for the Lakers. Having said that, I’d rather the Lakers wait for Kawhi next summer instead trading for him now and risk losing some of our young stars. Our young guns are one of the main reasons why Paul George wants to be here and why LeBron is even considering the Lakers. I don't see only one of them agreeing to go to an L.A. team without the other. I want to see LeBron, Kawhi, George, CP3 and Anthony Davis go to the Lakers just so we can see what that starting five would look like against the Warriors.
