If the Cavs win this one, they'll be tied 2-2, with 2 titles each. Next year's inevitable Cavs/Warriors Final would be the tie breaker for their best of 5.

You really think Cleveland brings the whole band back together?

One thing that's good is Tristan Thompson appears to be back.

If Jordan Clarkson stays glued to the bench, the Cavs might have a chance. LOL they don't.

Tristan Thompson literally only plays hard for 2 months in the playoffs. He's a product of LeBron who is nothing but a rebounder. He's a liability if you got him away from LBJ.

He takes damn near 6.5 months off and is paid for basically a few months.

It’s wild that everything on this list is very possible except number 1. As long as the Warriors are a cheat code, and LeBron is the only one on his team that knows what is on the line.

Ok, maybe not number 2 as well. He’d be a wideout for the Browns.

I find the “East sucks” narrative to be particularly tiring when Golden State’s first two rounds were against a Kawhi-less Spurs and a Boogie-less Pelicans.

Who did Cleveland play that was any better than New Orleans or San Antonio? Certainly not Indiana or, lol, Toronto.

Im not trying to take anything from Lebron. It’s just been a really long time since he beat a team in the east that was really a legitimate threat. This Boston team was the closest in years, and they were still pretty stripped down. And look at the Finals record, for example. He’s been there 9 times and this is probably the 6th time he’s been on a team that’s a huge underdog.

And its it’s not like saying the East is weaker than the West is anything mold-breaking. That’s been the narrative for YEARS.

The day LeBron James retires will be the happiest day of my life as a basketball fan.

I can see it Now, Lebron James keels over after losing game 5 of the 2032 NBA Finals to The Las Vegas Atoms, after making his 22nd conservative Finals appearance. Bringing his Finals record to 5-17.

He graciously decides to announce his retirement on a 3 hour ESPN PPV special.

Not if Houston wins and CP3 is less than 100 percent with that hamstring situation.

Even without CP3, as long as they don't have a night where they forget how to shoot (like the Celtics did) they sweep easily.

This Cavs team is as bad if not worse than 07, and needed a massive choke job by an overachieving Celtics team just to eek out a win.

I don't mean to take anything away from LeBron at all, but honestly that didn't feel like one of his one-man decimations (for that, the 2012 ECF Game 6 remains the standard I think). Of course that reflects on what we've come to expect from LeBron too. Anyway, even with Cleveland suddenly playing something resembling a professional defense, if you can't break 80 points in a game 7 with that roster, you gotta go. Bad time for Rozier's meme momentum to run out and for the bad Marcus Smart to show up. Don't even get me started on Marcus Morris's ideas on offense. I think throughout the playoffs, you need to be ready to withstand a guy or two on your team having a wet fart of a night here and there, and the Celtics' were too strapped on depth such when Brown or Tatum or Horford go quiet, no one else is really good enough pick up the slack. They would do well to pick up a couple all-stars in the offseason.

It was kind of an appropriate ending to that series because in all the games, it felt less like the two teams playing each other as much as they were playing themselves and their own challenges. Just kind of a weird vibe floating throughout.

It wasn’t even Cleveland playing defense.

Celtics has so many wide open 3’s. They hit 1/4 of them and they win easy.

This is another perfect example of them losing far more than the other team won it.

This is his 8th straight finals. That's borderline impossible to do. He reminds me of when the Rockets won in 94 that was not seen as a legit championship in my school because "Jordan didn't play". Whether that's fair to the 94 Rockets or Knicks or Jordan is up for discussion, but that's not the point. I think Lebron is the first guy since Jordan to reach that level where everyone on his side of the bracket is playing for second place.

I don't think they'll beat the Warriors, but if they do it wouldn't shock me at all.

Keep your heads up, Boston sports fans. You'll catch a break one day.

Are you implying that if Celtics didn’t shot 13% Cavs still would have won.

It’s not even Celtics losing that irks me. It’s all the :censored:ing Lebron slurpers like Skip Bayless and so acting like it’s some major accomplishment.

He had an average game (by his standards) needed 7 games and an all time choking effort by Celtics to make The Finals again.

Not exactly a good look for him.

If Lebron spent his career out West having to compete against Kobe and now The Warriors, he no way in hell makes 8 straight Finals.

I'm implying that one day Boston sports fans will get their moment in the sun. It's been a tough year and a half for you guys. Stay (Boston) Strong and one day it'll come.

Huh? Skip Bayless has made millions by denying Lebron James' greatness (quite disingenuously, but still). I would've chosen an actual Lebron stan.

Winning the conference championship for the 8th straight year is not a good look for him? Are you reading your posts before you hit "Submit Reply"?

I don't understand why it has to be zero-sum. On the one hand yes, the Celtics choked away game 7 and were down two all-stars, and the Raptors completely embarrassed themselves. On the other hand LeBron willed THAT roster, which has only been a thing for two months besides, to the finals. These are not mutually exclusive! Good luck does not take away from all-time talent! Everybody needs a bit of both!

At least there's still the Revolution to keep us humble. A few dozen of us, anyway.

He literally made every excuse possible for him this series.

When you look at the “competition” he had to face, not really.

Like I said, put Lebron our West and no way isn’t :censored:ing hell does he do that.

Likewise piut Kobe in The East he’d probably do it.

You said "not exactly a good look for him" after he won the conference championship (his 8th straight) with a group that has no business being in the finals apart from him. HOW THE :censored: IS THAT NOT A GOOD LOOK FOR HIM? It's a bad look for him that the Celtics missed a bunch of shots? That's so :censored:ing stupid. That's a bad look for the Celtics there, cheech.

He had to face NBA teams with NBA players and did something no other NBA player has ever done. If it was easy it would've happened before.

Maybe, but he's not in the west, he's in the East and A. it's not his fault the rest of the East can't ever get their :censored: together, 2. He's smart enough to choose to be in the East, and iii. could be that his dominance is why nobody else in the East can win the conference.

I assume you mean if Lebron wasn't in the East in this hypothetical. We will never know the answer, but I strongly doubt it. Kobe got injured, Kobe missed playoffs, Kobe never carried bad teams the way Lebron does, by the time Kobe was Lebron's age he was declining much faster.
