This is a template I altered awhile ago and still use. It was based on the Nike Pro Combat in 2010, so I'm sure I need to actually make my own by this point.

Cool thanks for the heads up. BUT the link is dead according to MediaFire

In the Beta league, you have a team in Allentown. Being from that area, it'd make more sense to brand it as 'Lehigh Valley,'  as it's basically 3 towns of similar population all up against each other. It's what most of the minor league teams here do (Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, LV Phantoms, LV Steelhawks, LV United), with the exception being a soccer team with a name that has 100+ years of history (Bethlehem Steel FC)

I think this is a concept with a lot of potential.  The Alaska Seawolves set looks great.  However, even though I'm new here and don't want to be "that guy," the University of Alaska-Anchorage's nickname is the Seawolves, so you would probably be forced to change your nickname in the real world.  Good work otherwise.

For the intent of this project, I'm assuming that NCAA football has been supplanted by this minor league. I went with Seawolves deliberately because some markets might elect to keep brands. I could name them the Alaska Orcas and distance it entirely.

Yeah, I can upload it to pCloud, but I should probably check with the template author first. He may have that link dead for a reason, and just because I have the file, I don't want to just assume I have the right to share it. I've had a mammoth logo stolen by a Russian hockey team, so I don't want to distribute anyone else's work without permission.

So while I check with Andrew Harrington, I instead did a search of the forum for other Nike templates and found this Mach Speed template which looks very similar (and has a better helmet, I think).

And there's also this one.

The reason I picked up on the name was from being a Division I college hockey fan... Alaska-Anchorage has a big time hockey program.  The university would either sue or charge the team to use the name in the same market, even though it's a different sport.  The university will try to protect their branding by whatever means necessary,  For example, the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights were threatened with legal action by at least one college for the use of the "Golden Knights" nickname, even though the college was thousands of miles away.  Leave it to lawyers to spoil a good time LOL

In the Beta League, I would love you to return the Dayton Triangles. It would be interesting to see a modern take on an odd (by current standards) name, without any history to back up that name.

Everyone and their uncle is giving me team suggestions and map comments.

Does anyone have comments on the LOGO before I vector trace?

Ah, the fun of forum C&C. Love it.

Anyway, I'm not sure about historical teams. I don't want to do Duluth Eskimos because that kind of title is not going to work in our current climate. Washington may never end up changing that name (as NFL fans get younger, the percentage of people that find it offensive is only going to go up), but I don't think anyone would disagree that they'd never be able to get away with that name in 2018 if it hadn't been used for over, what, 80 years?

Likewise, I don't think Louisville Brecks are viable, just because I have no idea what to do for a logo for a modernized Breckenridge Club.

But Dayton Triangles seems so perfectly bizarre. I had suggested Dakota Trikes, but was told that Sioux Falls is the wrong part of the state for that. Dayton Trikes, with a triceratops skull inside a Reuleaux triangle might be very executable.

I was thinking of just going with Lehigh rather than Lehigh Valley. The reasoning being that with a team headed to Las Vegas that I wanted to refrain from the LV abbreviation if possible.

Football generally prefers to avoid collective nouns. Basketball and hockey don't have a problem with it (Heat, Jazz) but not football. I could see Lehigh Voltage being a fun concept for basketball, but not football.

Lehigh Hyenas? Lehigh Sentinels?

Oh, for whatever reason, I'm not a huge fan of the name Wilkes-Barre (maybe because no one agrees how to pronounce Barre), so I'm thinking Susquehanna as a market name.

Nobody from the area would call it Lehigh, since that's the name of a college in the area, they probably also would use the college's football stadium to play at, which would make it even worse. I get the Las Vegas/LV thing, but I doubt it'd be that confusing, considering they're thousands of miles apart and I have to imagine Vegas would have some sort of casino branding.

Name wise, the area is pretty historic, being founded in the 1700s, and also used to be a major steel town (Hence names like the Iron Pigs, Steelhawks, and Bethlehem Steel). Obviously you don't want to copy the Steelers, but something iron or steel themed would work pretty well. It's a valley, so there's also a fair amount of mountains/rivers in the area (Hence Steelhawks or Lehigh University Mountain Hawks).

Along those lines, something like Ironmen, Steel, Hammers, Forge, etc could work, though some of those are pretty abstract/collective nouns. Mountain Lions, Groundhogs, Beavers, etc could play off the nature. Stars could also work, if you make it the Moravian Star mc-moravian-star-history-bethlehem-20141)

How about the Volts?  It's not as good as Voltage in my opinion, but it's a plural noun.

Miners is a good name for them too, but I think it would be even better for the Morgantown team, as that adds aliteration.  If you're opposed to duplicate names, I think that would be the best way to go.

Idea for Texas teams:

San Antonio Brigade

Austin Colony, as in a colony of bats

El Paso Javelinas

Are you doing teams for cities that don't have NFL franchises only?

St. Louis Pioneers

San Diego Captains

Oklahoma City Wildcatters

Memphis Kings
