No one "NEEDS" a jersey whatsoever, unless you're actually on the team and unless your Barry Sanders time traveling to 1993 or whatever, calm down. I bought a used Barry Sanders (B Sanders NOB) jersey to wear when I voted in the 2016 primary. I needed that jersey, so bad, I even accepted that it was a lousy Champion replica with the Champion number font and standard Arial-ish NOB font. Had I seen someone wearing a real one (almost impossible to come by from that era) I would have hit the person in the back of the head with a shovel and taken the jersey right off his or her back, then probably defecated on him or her while laughing maniacally in a euphoric state. Don't underestimate how bad someone might need a jersey, the lengths they're willing to go to acquire it, and what it does to them once they put it on for the first time. LMU
For perspective sake, while an asinine mistake on M & N's part, its far from the worst throwback mistake I've ever seen. Adidas is guilty of that. Take this Bo Kimble 1990 LMU throwback (which was given to me as a gift in college). One slight problem... LMU never had scarlet as a color. johnnysama
This kind of brings up a point that I've noticed. During the pre-Nike/Reebok era of NFL uniforms, the individual manufacturers (Russell, Sand-Knit, Champion, what have you) had different styles of block numerals. This is Russell's block numerals. Note how thin the TV numbers on the shoulders are..... ...to that of Sand-Knit/Starter/Ripon athletics; the TV numbers on the sleeves here are a bit wider than that of Russell Athletic's. Wilson's TV numbers on this example were more on par with that of Russell Athletic's here. And we all know about Champion's funky stock block numerals with the diagonal '2'. Just throwing this out here, a few observations of mine.
Sodboy13
Speaking of Champion's numerals, M&N has never been able to replicate them correctly, have they? It's odd, because they're an Adidas/Reebok property, and some Adidas NCAA jerseys used the Champion font several years ago. C-Squared
10 times out of 10, I buy the authentic jersey from the 90's on eBay for $50 instead of paying $300+ for an inaccurate remake. My TeePublic Shop My Instagram Art Page

johnnysama
To further my point in my earlier post, this late 1990s Chargers jersey has the wider TV numbers that was used by Sand-Knit. The jersey was 'made' by Starter, but they, alongside Nike, Adidas, and Reebok later, were actually made by Ripon Athletic, which as aforementioned, inherited the Sand-Knit plant in 1992.
