New York has two interesting names:

Utica Notre Dame Jugglers

Herkimer Magicians

Elsewher, you have the Yuma (AZ) Criminals.

ESPN made famous two names:

Watersmeet (MI) Nimrods

Devils Lake (ND) Satans

The last, sadly, was finally done in by the bible thumper crowd that it was unholy to be rooting for a team named the Satans and are now the Firebirds.

I always thought it was odd that people were too "holy" to cheer for the Satans, but had no issue living in a town called Devils Lake.

Not high schools, but two junior colleges.

Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes.

Lake Tahoe Community College Fighting Salmon (my old college. They’re basic as :censored: though and changed their name to the Coyotes a few years ago).

From what I'm aware, they've been trying to change that, but haven't gotten the headway they did with Satans.

When I was in high school in Milwaukee, I had a friend who went to Pius XI High School.  Home of the “Popes”.

Which meant that their girls teams were the “Lady Popes”.

Popettes?

Popatrixes?

Indiana has some solid ones, but I'll share my favorite:

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is not actually located in Indianapolis -- it's located in the appropriately named small town of Speedway, which is an enclave of the city.

Speedway's teams are known as the Sparkplugs.

I can't think of too many unique ones in the Baltimore area.  The best I can think of are --

Dunbar Poets

Wilde Lake Wildecats (solely because of the intentional misspelling)

Sparrows Point Pointers

Loyola Dons

Key School Obezags (Gazebo spelled backwards)

I remember a few good ones from my years of higher education in Pennsylvania (Lehigh Valley and Central Penn) --

Northampton Konkrete Kids

Bangor Slaters

William Allen Canaries

Easton Red Rovers

Whitehalll Zephyrs

Jim Thorpe Olympians

Minersville Miners

Boiling Springs Bubblers

State College Little Lions

Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers

Waynesboro Indians/Maidens

Long Beach Poly (CA) Jackrabbits

Illinois has a reputation for interesting high school nicknames.  Personal favorite:

some of the older names here, in addition to the aforementioned Pius Popes, we got the Manitowoc Ships, Waukesha South Blackshirts, D.C. Everest Evergreens, Rhinelander Hodags, Kimberly Papermakers, St. Mary's Springs Ledgers and Monroe Cheesemakers.  That, and both Madison and Milwaukee have schools whose teams are Purgolders.
