Samford has had four turnovers too.

How ironclad is Willie Taggart's contract?  As I'm aware, the buyout is 85% of whatever money is left on the contract (which was 6 years, $30 million).  Is that a lot these days?  Does it give him some job security?

Who would they get and also pay their buyout too.

Plus there's the cost of a new AD hire as Stan Wilcox left to work for the NCAA.

*shrug*

I just want to be assured he won't be fired after a single year. ?

WELL WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT I WAS WRONG WHO EOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT THAT WAS POSSIBLE.

I was fully in “just don’t get embarrassed” mode, and so far this team already looks MILES better than even the most well-oiled Todd Graham outfit. That’s what’s most impressive so far. They look like they actually decided to adequately prepare for games this go-around.

dfw posted an interview that was done with Herm before the season (can’t remember the writers name) just to try and make some sense of this hire, and I have to say, his plan makes sense. It wasn’t anything particularly radical, and really opened up my eyes to some of the dumb off the field :censored: coaches have to go through to prep for a game. His idea to delegate some of that crap out to others so he can focus on coaching seemed pretty smart. And considering he hasn’t coached in college in forever, that’s probably the best idea. The further things moved along, the more comfortable I was with the hire. I may be getting ahead of myself here, but this “sleeping giant” talk may have some potential after all.

And to think, I wanted them to hire Sumlin over Edwards. Damn, I love looking foolishly wrong when this is the outcome.

I don't really expect Arizona State to suddenly win the Pac-12 South, but they're better than I expected. I didn't think Michigan State was necessarily that good, but still. They're certainly better off than Arizona is. My god. Maybe Kevin Sumlin is actually the worst coach but just got lucky with some of his recruiting.

*sigh* As loath as I am to acknowledge it, the Irish offense is not good.  The defense is only slightly better.  It's never a good sign IMO when freaking Wisconsin's passing game looks more dangerous than yours, and if I were an opposing coach, I'd make Wimbush beat my team in the air, betting that he won't be able to.

Maybe this embarrassing performance will see these unis and helmets relegated to the pages of the history books never to be seen again.

Taggart has this track record...he takes over trainwrecks (WKU, USF) and in a season and a half they start clicking.

Why I'm gonna be miserable this season:

Take a decidedly average to sub-par OL, sprinkle in liberally a good dose of injuries, try to install a new offense that's completely different from the previous one. MIX VIGOROUSLY!

Hurricane Florence is causing changes already.

The Campbell@Coastal Carolina game will be moved to Campbell and will be played on Wednesday afternoon.

NC State shutting down campus on Wednesday afternoon through Sunday. They're scheduled to host West Virginia on Saturday, but reportedly don't want to play in Morgantown even if offered the gate.
