Although having each league's individual playoffs lead into the semifinals makes the most logical sense, I still the wild format prior to the Northland League's existance.

1947 Kellogg Cup Finals

Game 1: Roseau took advantage of home ice, coming back from a 1-0 deficit to win 3-2.

Game 2: The Stars were able to win both games on home ice thanks to a hat trick from Boomer Baumgartner.

Game 3: Roseau continued to poor on the offensive attack as they notched 4 goals on the road to take a 3-0 series lead.

Game 4: St. Paul was able to finally shut down the Stars offensive attack, holding them to only 1 goal. The Saints were able to get 2 for themselves and avoid the sweep.

Game 5: Roseau, back on home ice, was hungry for the cup. The Saints didn't stand a chance despite a great game by the St. Paul goaltender, only getting 11 shots on goal all game. The Stars were still able to score twice on their way to their first Kellogg Cup!
