Teal
It begins... Barcelona home. I also have it on good authority that Barca away will be Yellow. In more 19/20 kit news, Inter Milan away will be white/black with "Tropical Twist" (mint green) socks. Jaguars
Bosston Official
WTF IS THAT, DID NIKE RUN OUT OF IDEAS, BECAUSE THAT LOOKS LIKE THE CROATIAN KIT WITH A DIFFERENT SHADE OF BLUE AND PATCHES ON IT
MJWalker45
They do this from time to time to shake things up. Reportedly it's based on some of the flags that the fans wave at the Nou Camp.
pepis21
Excatly this kit is based on flags not Croatia.
PrimalCookie
“Designed by Rakitic” In all seriousness though, I think as a one-year-only thing it’s fine. I like variety every once in a while.
Digby
Barcelona's modernizing their crest for next year, too. Blessedly minimalist on the logo graphic explainer copy. It’s not a concept, the club announced the updated crest (which is still pending member approval) earlier today: There’s also a new exclusive font that hasn’t been fully revealed yet, but can be seen below the crest in the image in that first tweet. Gothamite
Here’s a great video showing their crest evolution: The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Gothamite
Old: I like this update. Losing the interior black is a huge improvement, as is shifting the ball up. The thicker stroke on the ball makes it more legible at smaller sizes. I kind of hate to lose the letters, but when you’re that famous you don’t really need the initials. UnclearInitial
It’s a very solid update, much cleaner and everyone recognizes the Barcelona crest without the FCB which could stand for loads of other clubs. My main gripe is that the red stripes would be a bit darker, after all they’re the blaugrana, not the blauvermell
Digby
Agreed with all of the above -- they've always been good about keeping the essence of their crest while staying updated for modern times and this is no different. WBeltz
I like when teams who have had such a classic design (like Barcelona) mix it up a bit, because you can only do so much with vertical stripes on a jersey, so I'm all for Inter Milan and Barca doing this. Teal
Great news! Barca will be in teal in 19/20. "Cabana" will be Barca's third kit. Jaguars
upperV03
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barça’s secondary kit next year will bring back the iconic yellow shirt with blaugrana sash from the late ‘70’s (though possibly with the direction of the sash flipped): I hope they break up the sash for the sponsor logo, like they did with the vertical stripe on the ‘08-09 away shirt, but nonetheless this should be a fantastic and classic look for them. Conrad.
That 19/20 Barça road kit, if true (and if the sash is broken up for the sponsor), is an automatic buy for me. Beautiful. Red Goat Creations :: Graphic Design Solutions
WBeltz
Looks like MLS will be allowing sleeve sponsors starting the next league year (2019) via the Athletic. https://theathletic.com/598815/2018/10/18/ Personally, it isn't something I'm too keen on, but it was bound to happen sooner or later, and money does talk. It'll be interesting to see how many teams jump on it immediately once the new season starts.
