As a Tribe fan I will not miss seeing them move on to the next round.

As someone pulling for the Indians (or if not them, the A's), I don't think it's going to matter much who comes out of the NL... because neither team I want to win it all is going to even get there.

Personally, I didn't expect any thread until Thursday anyway.

Gotcha, but I mean the Wild Card games are still considered the postseason, right?

Lots of Brewers fans are the same aggressive meathead suburban bros that Cubs fans are accused of being, but worse because they live in Scottwalkerland

Eh, I think you're letting the type of Brewers fan most likely to show up for Cubs games skew your view of the entire fanbase.  Sure, there's a brobag element, but overall, Brewers fans are a pretty middle-of-the-road crowd.  The team has been the most mainstream form of entertainment in SE Wisconsin for just under 50 years... it's basically a sports version of what you'd find at Summerfest.

Anyway, #WinOneForUke.  He's 83... let him finally live his dream of calling a Brewers World Series win.

I’m surprised there is so little faith in the Red Sox. Sure the past couple of years they haven’t performed in the playoffs, but it’s a different team, and has been performing above everyone else. And its not due to just who they have played against

Because they don’t have a good head-to-head record against every other AL playoff team his year.

This is one of the best edits I've seen - can't get through it without laughing. I promise it's worth the watch.

Go Brewers!

73, 77, 81, 83, 90, 06

29, 30, 31, 36, 39, 44, 61, 62, 65, 66, 67, 96, 10

MLB insists they are.

I insist they are functionally no different than tiebreaker games of years past, so I don't.

They're the baseball version of the NCAA "First Round" games.

Yeah, I'm just picking on a certain subsection: Waukesha County produces howling frat-ogres the way the rest of the state produces dairy

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Except it's been decades since the rest of the state produced that much dairy. ?

Top seeds in baseball also haven't had tons of luck in the playoffs. Ask last year's Dodgers or the '01 Mariners. Obviously a team that won 100+ games is going to be good, but I often wonder if some of those wins came from feeding off a weak division and lots of cellar dweller teams. There's many instances where that has been the case.

Oh Oakland, why do we delude ourselves that you guys have a chance in the playoffs?

Because y’all are dumb ?

Oakland getting bounced in an elimination game is basically the easiest money you’re ever going to make.

The Dodgers swept the Diamondbacks, mopped the floor with the Cubs, and were a crappy Yu Darvish start away from winning the World Series. That's not in the same universe as the '01 Mariners, whose how-did-this-bunch-of-guys-win-that-many-games roster betrayed them exactly when you'd expect it to

No, that would be the Bengals in any playoff game/Chiefs in a home playoff game.

That’s like the 2010 Giants in reverse. A roster that looked pretty  unimpressive (save for the pitching) and would have been lucky to be over .500 somehow won the World Series.
