nash61
The Hamilton Tiger Cats recently redesigned both of their mascots while keeping the same names. I thought it would be interesting to compare some redesigns (that keep the same name, not a new character) and see if it's an upgrade or downgrade. Echo
The Sabres have redesigned Sabretooth a couple of times to coincide with their various color changes over the years. The original Sabretooth was orange and black: When the Sabres changed to red and black in 1996 Sabretooth changed to red and black as well: When the Sabres changed back to navy blue and gold in 2006 Sabretooth changed as well, this time to gold with navy stripes:

OnWis97
Herky the Hawk at Iowa changed a few years ago from a plastic head to a more conventional head. Both are pictured in the below link (plus an older version from th 1950s). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herky_the_Hawk Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." Burmy
In 1970, a 69-year old fan named Milt Mason, unhappy with the Brewers' low attendance so far, decided to sit atop the County Stadium scoreboard until the team would draw at least 40,000 before a home game. He was there for about 40 days, finally descending on August 16 to a cheering crowd of 44,387. To this day, he is recognized as the original Bernie Brewer. In 1973, Bernie Brewer was officially introduced as the team's mascot, depicted, in honor of Mason, as a cheerful man sporting a big mustache and wearing lederhosen and a Tyrolean hat (Unfortunately, I can't find any pictures of that era online). When his chalet was torn down in 1984 to make room for a new sound system, Bernie was sent into retirement as well, until, by popular demand, his chalet, slide and beer mug were rebuilt and he made his big return in 1993-this time as a full-body costume with a foam head. When the Brewers moved into Miller Park, Bernie got a makeover as he moved into Bernie's Dugout, keeping his new look to this very day.
SilverBullet1929
Is there a reason for the specific first name of Bernie for Bernie Brewer? Anyways Billy the Marlin was of course redesigned when the Marlins went from Florida to Miami before the 2012 season... He doesn't look bad in that light blue color but there's no doubt this redesign was a downgrade especially with that 3 colored fin on his back. AstroCree
The original Mr. Met was a bit terrifying. He disappeared during the 70s but made his return thanks to a fan letter in the mid-90s. Thankfully that incarnation of Mr. Met didn't last long and we soon got the version we all know and love. Mrs. Met also went through a few changes. She was originally known as Lady Met. Like her husband, she disappeared but took longer to return (possibly raising the kids). She made a brief return in the mid-2000s even appearing in a few ESPN commercials. Not sure where her hair went during this period. She was officially reintroduced in 2013 (with hair again) where she still makes appearances to this day. I think Mr. Met enjoys having her back.
