Maybe my opinion will change when I see these in live action, but everything here still gives me a feeling of a lot of decent-to-good parts that have been assembled poorly. They really need more color here. Even a splash with a contrasting front number would do the trick. The colors on the sleeve piping should be separated rather than smooshed against each other, too.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

I think live action will be less favorable than static: anything with dark x-on-x and contrasting outlines is going to look worse in motion and/or at a distance because it gets that much harder to read. It's function following form. Maybe that "screams Miami," but it doesn't make a good sports uniform.

This didn't really solve the old set's biggest problems, which were relying too much on black as the team's main color and not using the team's nickname enough. If anything, they made both problems worse.

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Eh, maybe it’ll grow on me, but I’m not keen on it. They’re simply too black-heavy on each uniform to really work. A blue bill on the caps or an blue/coral red-crowned cap would work wonders here. I second the opinion that the cap logo could work with a few tweaks.

While the scripts are nice and all, keeping “Miami” at home just looks kinda desperate. I don’t mind the fish’s (which could use minor adjustments, like an eye or a different fin patch) absence on the scripts.

The custom font is decent, as it’s much-needed upgrade over the old one.

Overall, it’s a lateral move. It could have been amazing, but it’s another “high-potential, low yield” set. Just like Major League Baseball in Florida.

I think this is a significant upgrade given how terrible the previous ones were.  But I can't really argue with that "high potential, low yield" remark.  They're already making the same mistake they made with every other Marlins set... way too heavy on the black when the other colors are so much more distinctive and interesting.

My initial reaction is that this is definite downgrade overall. My main fear was realized--too bland because of the excessive use of black.

Well, I'd say that the cap was executed much better than I expected, but overall it's good, not great.

The blue jersey is ok I suppose but seems pretty empty. It needs piping, front numbers, something.

The road gray isn't too bad and actually an upgrade from the current white on gray wordmark.

Maybe I would feel differently if I saw it in person, but the black alternate doesn't have much of a neon effect for me in the photos. It has no character at all.

And the home white is the worst for me. I hate that it still says Miami instead of Marlins and the blue accenting vanishes into the white in the photos. It feels like it has even less color than in the old Miami uniform. Pretty much just black and white.

Overall it's a bland, soul-less look that needs a major color injection. It's quite ironic given how much they've been touting their Miami "colores" for the last week.

I guess I will buy an outgoing home white while it's on clearance.

Very boring, need front numbers or more piping.

These makes the old set much more alive and vibrant..... also a shame the marlins man made everyone hate the orange jersey.

Never thought i would say this, but these old ones are a lot better when you compare them to the new ones.  It's literally night and day, and these new ones look boring up close, i dread to think how they look on the field

here you get something for your money, the new ones are not worth $310 imo

No front numbers, needs just a touch more piping, too much black, by the way I thought the BFBS era was over about 6 or 7 years ago? had potential but missed the mark...Did i say need a blue hat ? that's the best color in this pallet that they are using , and its under utilized in my opinion,🤔  disappointing.. overall grade for me D+

How is it BFBS when black is their primary color?

This rebrand is so freaking frustrating. It’s actually rather close to looking pretty good, but the elements that drag it down are like a cruise ship anchor.

Everything that’s good about it is killed by the lack of a keyline. I CAN’T STAND the look of sports logos that just “float” out in open space like this one does. I get that trend for some business applications, but it’s a crappy idea when you’re trying to make your brand more visable from a distance.

And MY GOODNESS that Marlin is ugly as hell. For as bad as the abstract one was, this one is just gross looking. Especially so when embroidered.

And I can’t believe the overall theme actually got darker! Goodness, that was the absolute last thing they should’ve done. It reminds me of a more drab version of the D Backs alts.

I posted it on the last page and I’ll repeat, the wordmark assignments are so freaking dumb. Put the wordmark from the black jersey on the white, take the blue jersey logo and put into on the black, and put that Miami script on the blue jersey and it’s an instant upgrade. The way they have it now lacks any cohesion whatsoever

Im really disappointed in the lack of a second hat option or at least a contrasting bill.

This is is definitely the worst the Marlins have ever looked.

Agree 100%

I never would have thought the Marlins would have fielded something worse than 2012-2018 (despite its merits) but somehow Jeter managed to succeed.

Jerseys are awesome. Big-time upgrade and now one of my favorite looks in MLB. A little disappointed there doesn't seem to be a blue hat for the blue jersey but I bet they'll have one eventually.

But if you go to a game you'll  need binoculars to see that look,  😉

See, Maggie, those black blobs are the Miami Marlins . They're Daddy's favorite team. And he wants them to lose by less than five and a half points. Understand?
