Marlins93
I'm no Samson fan, but I respect his candor. I also think he was mostly being truthful in his revelations. Can anyone point to particular moments where you thought he was bending the truth to make himself look better? I do think his memory was foggy in a couple of instances, though. I am quite certain that Austin Kearns (not Wes Helms) was the other player who vanished from the team after Pokey Reese. Samson also said that they had a "Milton Bradley for Eric Gagne" trade finalized but fell through at the last minute, but Bradley was never in the Marlins system! I'm curious which player they were actually offering up.

This leads me to think that teal was never even considered as an option for the rebranding. This does not come as a surprise at all, of course, but it's still interesting to think about. The hubris does remind me a bit of Jeffrey Loria, though. From all the Samson interviews i'v heard he holds no ill will towards Jeter. It sounded to me like he was saying Jeter just wants to separate himself from Loria.

I truly believe Samson, he's self deprecating and he's admitted when he's messed up (Scorched Earth in MTL) and when Loria took the control outta the GM and Samsons hands (BELL, CHEN, MCGOWAN, TINO MARTINEZ, BARRY BONDS). He didn't disappoint, and thats sad to me. God do I wish Loria left atleast the last regime to run the team instead of meddling. Heck, didn't he say previously some peopl ehad "Jeffrey's Ear" and he'd be goaded into making deals, then throw the Assistant GM Dan Jennings out there as one of them. Which is how he ended up managing the team at one point (You did this, you deal with it).

FiddySicks
A modified version of that Marlins script in red on that white shirt would be awesome on the jerseys. BBTV
When not on white, the fish really does look like it's pissing blood. Baseballs are white - don't have much creative license there. That part fails. Rest of the merch looks really nice. BC985
I got my new Marlins 5950 in the mail today. The body of the Marlin above the M is raised embroidery, but the tail is not. One detail I hadn’t noticed until I saw that hat up close is the bottom of the Marlin, the mouth, and the bottom of the tail are outlined in gray. The underbrim of my hat is black unlike the gray posted above. I thought the red outline on the hat might look more red/orange, but it’s definitely red. Overall, I really like the hat. WSU151
I'm reiterating a previous point...The outlines of the M are too thin on the hat...plus the marlin should be about 10% bigger. Plus it'd look better if it were more orange-y than red. Those shirts look great with an orangeish secondary color. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. I know, but MLB teams have been using that language for a couple decades now. Just like NFL teams tend towards “Super Bowl Champions”, promoting the championship game.
