Left to right, Rangers, Blue Jays and Miami (Current). They are very different Pantone hues.2mq0s5f.png

From what I was told...correct me if I am wrong. Below are the three together.

Miami Blue - Pantone 299C

Caliente Red - Pantone Red 032C

Slate Gray - Pantone 7698C

I’m starting to wonder if they kept black as a primary color in order to make it easier to have a ton of throwback nights. This ownership group is at least smart enough to know how much that drew last year. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see some weird situation down the line where they have a permanent throwback alt in their weekly uniform rotation. They could call it Our “Historia” or something like that.

Here is what TruColor is reporting:

That is what is mind boggling about the new look. They incorporate vibrant colors but use them more as trim. There is almost less color on these than the predominantly black Florida Marlins look in the 2000s. But, I know, I know, "neon lights in a Miami night sky".

You're right. I feel these jerseys could, at the very least, benefit from the use of sleeve trim.

No thanks.

Seriously 🤦🏾‍♂️ I’m tired of these “bring back the teal!!!” Marlins fans. As I said before, I own 2 retro Florida Marlins jersey. I love the teal! But they do NOT need to go back. Progress and move on.

Didn't the Brewers do that in the 90s?

Not quite.  They returned to button down uniforms and tweaked their scripts in 1990, but it was more/less a continuation of the original BiG brand.  1994 brought the original Germanics, which they tweaked in 1997.  But the current "Miller" inspired unis didn't come along until 2000.

So while they technically wore three different brands in a 10-year window, it wasn't within the same decade.

Man I can't believe how many people are unhappy with the rebrand only because it's too traditional. I hope those aren't the same people who complained in 2012 that that rebrand wasn't traditional enough. Damned if you do and damned if you don't!

Nope, not unhappy with the re brand because it's too traditional. Unhappy due to lack of colors. i was unhappy in 2012 due to too many colors!

A nice middle ground would have been..........nice.

Overall, I would say this new look is a slight upgrade, even if just for the more prominent use of their wonderful blue. Although the rainbow look had potential if they got creative with it (having their color scheme be every color), but ultimately, the fact is that they resorted to black, white, & orange, not a fitting scheme for them. I really like the new “M” fish logo, as well as the wordmark.

I do wish the “caliente red” ended up being pink, especially since it’s reserved to an accent. I wish the black jersey was the one with just the “M” logo, as it would be more visible than a wordmark. The all-black hat is a little boring too, I wish they had more colorful options to choose from to brighten things up a bit.

Then honestly wasn't talking about you. I've seen people actually complain that these new jerseys are too traditional and I'm just making a point because so many people complained that the last rebrand wasn't traditional enough. I also know there's no way to even know if these are the same people, I'm just pointing out the irony.

Miami Blue is real nice. But the cap blue and the jersey script blue seems different. could be the lighting.

I like the back of the jerseys more than the front, oddly enough. The black jersey is nice, but I think it all the jerseys need more neck piping like the old jerseys.

I wish they had a more unique script. It's really boring when its horizontal and not on an upward slant.

See here it all pops and looks great. This whole look depends so much on the execution and the setting...

That video was full of closeups and quick cuts. There's only one real shot of the full jersey (the one in the thumbnail of the video), and it only lingers on that shot for half a second. You never really get a full sense of the overall product, just bits and pieces that they know will pop, especially when only shown briefly.
