Nike NBA Legacy Uniform Concepts 2018

Recommended Posts

In honor of Opening Night, I decided to experiment and create a different style of Nike NBA jersey called the Legacy uniform. These involve a combination of different eras of the respective team combined into a single uniform. This means there are varying styles, colors, and logos. Below each uniform are the aspect of the uniform and the era it's correlated to. I'm starting this series off with some Atlantic Division teams:

Boston Celtics:

1950s-60s: Chest text

1970s-90s: Number, pant logo

2000s-Present: Pant stripe, sleeve pattern

Brooklyn Nets:

1960s-80s (As the New York/New Jersey Nets): Side pattern, pant logo

Early-mid 1990s (As New Jersey Nets): Chest text

2000s: Uniform Color

Present: Number font

New York Knicks:

Late 1960s-70s: Chest text, pant logo

Mid 1980s-mid 1990s: Primary and Secondary colors, number font

Late 1990s-Early 2010s: Uniform side design, sleeve pattern

Present: Tertiary color

The rest of the division and more will be coming soon, but let me know what you think!

Great start. I like the old school Celtics font across the chest, and I love you put the Yankees NY back on the Knicks uniform. My only complaint is there is no NBA logo on the back. My advice would be just putting customizing the template with the NBA logo as a permanent layer. Good work!

Great stuff.

Please don’t do the Thunder’s Legacy is the SuperSonics. OKC doesn’t get Seattle’s history.

As an Oklahoman, I agree. We don't claim anything of Seattle's history down here and are waiting for the league to grant them a team to give back the history and tradition.

My only tweak to this would be to swap the red and cream on the text, but that's just personal preference.

A quick update to the Bucks uniform, adjusting the font more towards the chest, but also changing the white stripe to the tertiary color to match the rest of the color scheme. I promise the Southeast Division is on the way!

My apologies for the delay, been kind of busy as of late. To start the Southeast Division:

Atlanta Hawks:

1970s: Short waist pattern and waist logo

1980s: Colors and chest design (modernized)

1990s-Early 2000s: Side design, pant logo (color adjusted)

Late 2000s-Mid 2010s: Number font

Present: Chest text

As work lightens up for me over the next few days, I will be completing the division and, thus, the Eastern Conference.

Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats:

1990s-early 2000s: Striping, collar/sleeve design, waist design

2000s-early 2010s: Number font, side pattern, orange stripe (in place of the awkward green)

Early-Mid 2010s: Chest text, Pant logo

Present: Colors, Hugo on waist logo

Probably the most boring of the bunch, as the team only has two truly different uniforms:

Miami Heat:

Late 1980s-1990s: Colors, number drop shadow, pant logos

2000s-Present: General uniform design (adjusted side), chest text

You should use the brighter red that they originally had.

The orange stripe stands out too much, I think. And the white side panel doesn't work for me. Strangely enjoying the italic numbers though.

Removed the orange stripe and changed back to its original green, but I think the early Bobacts' side striping allows for the era's element to be properly used so it's not just an out of place tacked on Bobcats logo. In addition, my colors are limited as to what to replace the white with if I did.
