johnnysama
OK. I've been thinking. There have been some uniforms seen recently that are throwbacks..... of throwbacks worn in the past. What examples can you think of? All I can think of right now is the 1950s-era San Francisco 49ers uniforms worn by the team for select games this season that was worn in 1994. VandyDelphia Mike
Well, if Villanova ever wants to honor its third national championship team, they can do so with throwbacks that honored their first championship team. Not 100% faithful reproductions, mind you. NCAA Baseball Champions | 2014, 2019 facebook

pepis21
I'm not sure If I correctly understand what's going on in this thread, but in 1996/1997 season Rapors wore Toronto Huskies throwback from 1947: and then in 2009/2010 season they was wearing it again: (notice the difference between #2 on both jerseys) Also in 2016/2017 season Raptors used away version: which was unused in 1996/1997 season:
johnnysama
The Flames and Capitals new retro alternate jerseys also qualify, as they were worn under the old Reebok template for a few years, and have come back Adidas-ified.

They could have fixed the mistakes they made back in 1994, we know so much more now about the original 1930s/40s uniforms that we did then. Instead, they just brought them back. They’re inaccurate 1938 throwbacks, but perfectly accurate for 1994 throwbacks. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. johnnysama
Also, the Redskins' 1930s throwbacks were worn in 2012; they were previously worn (with some modifications) in 1994.

johnnysama
Also, the Detroit Lions 1940s throwbacks have been worn as one-offs again from 2001-04, and again from 2008-10.

Old School Fool
The Cowboys resurrected their 1995 navy alternate and wore it for Thanksgiving from 2001 to 2003. Their Color Rush uniform is basically their 1994 alternate but with a tweaked shoulder logo and white pants.

Googling only resulted in this other, relatively low quality image. I can't find anything else about them. I know that isn't what this thread is for but I cannot for the life of me remember them, and I'm interested.

Because the CR is based off the White Version of That, with the SAME star style, minus the wordmark, and with White Pants rather than Silver. AndrewMLind
Ohio State honored the 25th anniversary of its 1968 title with season-long throwbacks in 1993. The Buckeyes then wore them again for their 2014-15 playoff run, as well as during select games during the 2015 and 2016 seasons (and subsequent playoff semifinal). Also, Ohio State’s current stripes are technically a throwback to the Earle Bruce years. I won’t necessarily count that, though, since the Buckeyes have switched back and forth between striping patterns over the years and it just makes it more confusing. Then, if you really want to dive deep, the road version of the 1968 throwback had red tv numbers, meaning there was no overall difference between those or the team’s road uniform in 2003, for example. The black tv numbers on the home set were the key.

They're 1940s throwbacks - they've worn them a few times since then, I think. 1996-97 a as the 50th anniversary of the NBA, so a lot of teams wore throwbacks.
