Looks like a logo for a music app.  Also it looks "volt" to me on the hat, but I guess it must be yellow.

Bottom 5 MLS logo, what a shame, the league had been on a hot streak.  Aw well, gotta have some trash logos to help appreciate the good ones.

They’re already using that color on their website.  And yes, I’d call it closer to volt than either yellow or gold.

And hey looky - sound waves.

Volt is the middle color labeled Original in the color chart below. The color Nashville is using is definitely more yellow, like the web safe yellow on the bottom left.

Does everything on a uniform have to be functional?

My first thought after I posted this was “How long until Goth comes back with something like, Well, what’s the point of a collar on ANY shirt?

🙄

So, in other words, nothing. K, thanks.

"Because it looks good" is a pretty dang good reason to me. Especially on that Whitecaps kit.

Agree to disagree, I guess. I think collars are easily the goofiest element on a sports jersey, and if they serve no purpose, why even waste the material? It’s especially funny in an era where everything is “0.00147% lighter”.

Im not a huge fan of collared shirts in general, but I’d even be somewhat ok if they just wanted to use a straight up polo shirt (buttons and all, go for bold) as a throwback because polo shirts usually look nice and give that old timey feel. But the way they take these modern style jerseys and just slap a weird collar onto it is just brutally bad. It NEVER looks good IMO. That Vancouver kit is no exception. It’s a minor annoyance at best, and kills the entire look at worst. One of the first requests we usually get from players when we start the kit design process every year is “no collars”. It’s hard enough to get a lot of these guys to wear their travel polo shirts most of the time.

I’m preparing myself to be very upset by this kit. The white secondary kits are overtaking MLS.

Is there a functional point to having a polo shirt style collar on a soccer jersey...

It depends upon how you're defining "functional".

What is the "function" - that is to say, the purpose - of the polo shirt style collar on the Vancouver Whitecaps' 2019 home jerseys? It would seem to serve an aesthetic purpose only... simply to stand out amongst all of the non-polo shirt style collars that grace the jerseys of other Major League Soccer franchises.

What was the function - the purpose - of the button-down collar and placket on the Portland Timbers' primary jerseys in 2017/2018? Aesthetics.

What was the function - the purpose - of the button-down and collared jerseys on the Sporting Kansas City primary jerseys in 2017/2018? Aesthetics.

What's the function - the purpose - of the chest stripes on the jerseys of the Chicago Fire or Vancouver Whitecaps? Aesthetics.

The point being, there are those design elements on a sports uniform that serve a function with regard to athletic performance, and there are those that serve a function with regard to aesthetics.

Colorado would be a great candidate for a differently colored "light" kit -- they've got the light blue as a brand color and that was their secondary for some time (worked great), and obviously the recent yellow kits as inspired by the state flag. Both great options! And if that background is anything to go by...Minnesota beat them to using "snow" as an excuse for white.

Orlando primary now officially unveiled:

This is really dissapointing from them, and a significant downgrade from their now-old primaries. I don’t like the use of the recycled graphic pattern from the Spain WC away shirt or the tonal Adidas stripes, and I really don’t like that the kit is almost completely devoid of gold. I will say that I like the jocktag, but that’s about it.

ATL looking tight.

Orlando is fine, I don't hate it but it is a downgrade from their last primary.

Colorado will be interesting. I was really hoping if they trashed the state-flag motif they'd do something with the powder-blue. I think Black-and-White could look tight but everyone is so anti-white, anti-black kits now that it will get a terrible reception no matter what it ends up being.
