Greatest dynasty? Pfft.

If the NFL had a stronger commissioner with an actual spine, tonight's discussion would be so much different right now.

It is what it is. In a purely objective sense, no team has been as successful in the same window of time as the Patriots. The 49ers and Cowboys were dominant, but over a long period of time.

I'd argue that what the 49ers did from 1981 thru 1994 was a little harder to do. Defenses weren't as handcuffed back then as they are now and the NFC back then was a little tougher than the current AFC is. That's not to say that what the Pats have done isn't incredible, I'm just saying that each dynasty has to be judged by the era in which it took place. I don't know if the current Pats offense would have worked as well under 1980's rules. I do think the 49ers offense of the 80's would be even better against today's defenses. Make of that what you will. B)

The 49ers won 5 Super Bowls in 13 years. The Patriots won 6 Super Bowls in 17 years. Just pointing that out. I think the two dynasties are a little closer than we like to believe.

EDIT: FWIW, the 49ers were screwed out of going to the Super Bowl in 1983 by three bull-:censored: interference calls that basically handed the Redskins the go ahead TD late in the game. Look it up on YouTube.

This is only the second game I've watched that Tony Romo's done.  It pains me to say it, but he's good.  Like.. real good.  For someone who's obviously not an announcer (his voice and cadence aren't really like most pro announcers) he's really enjoyable to listen to, teaches you stuff, and doesn't kill you with annoying cliches.

He has grown on me as an announcer.

Witten on the other hand needs to hurry up and have that fatal accident where he electrocutes himself in the bathtub already.

Look, I get it - it’s super annoying to hear people constantly complain and whine about one team always winning and one team always having things work out for them, when a lot of it is overblown. This organization is freaking good. You don’t win 6 SBs by accident, or by the refs conspiring for you, or by cheating. As I said before, we have run out of reasons to explain away this dynasty. They are that good.

But at at the same time, it’s also really annoying to see one team constantly winning, one team constantly experiencing success, one team constantly triumphing. Especially in a league that takes pride in its “parity.”

Im sorry if complaining about the Patriots makes me a whiner, sore loser, or annoys you. But I’m tired of seeing such an unlikable franchise win constantly. Sorry.

No one will ever win 6 Sb titles in 18 years ever, I guess I was alive to see it even if my most hated team achieves it and I gotta hear from evil Boston again.

The best part? The Patriots won another Super Bowl! The best 13-3 game I have ever seen  in my 53 years on this rock. Let's do it again, next year! Good job, Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots! Or, as Vet would say, SBCNEP.

And the David Tyree catch was already more than a decade ago. Time really does fly. Oddly enough, one of the first Super Bowls I even paid attention to was the first Patriots-Rams bowl.
