WSU151
It is pretty cool that the NFL has been lenient for the Rams. It's pretty much an admission that the official homes are garbage. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
AgentColon2
Will one of you guys lecture the Rams Twitter account that uniform is not a throwback but their designated home uniform?
Still MIGHTY
Thank God that 1) the NFL let the rule slide so the Rams could flip designations and officially ditch the navy jersey and 2) that the NFC is the designated home team this year. It's all coming together. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |
Gothamite
Now if the Rams can just win the damn game, the relocation thread can finally get its Hollywood happy ending and be shut down. DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
What's the reason why the Rams can't just change their uniforms yet?
AndrewMLind
My understanding is they want to roll out new uniforms with the opening of their new stadium. The five-year rule would prevent that from happening if they updated anytime between their relocation and the stadium opening.

There's no reason they cant. BUT, if they do then they can't change AGAIN for the opening of the new stadium, due to the five year rule. They would rather be disjointed now, and open the stadium with new jerseys, than fix everything now and not have shiny new uniforms for the new stadium. crosfam
If you go to NFL Shop website, they are pushing the old navy jerseys with a sewn on SB logo. Looks like royal and yellow may be sold out already, at least first round. Kind of sad they are pushing essentially obsolete jerseys.
NYUNDERDOGS
I've never seen an alternative uniform used in a playoff game, never mind the Super Bowl. Man, what strings did Kroenke pull? AndrewMLind
The 49ers wore alternate uniforms throughout the 1995 playoffs and in Super Bowl XXIX. The Chargers also wore their powder blue alternates in the 2009 Wild Card game.

aawagner011
Just go ahead and slap a slightly more modern number font on those beauties and call it a day. No need to go through such a massive process to update the uniforms and drag this out. This is the Rams look and it’s been adapted wonderfully to a modern template, despite being a throwback. That’s the Rams identity and if they go with anything other than yellow and blue, they’ve failed. Not to mention the Rams spent nearly five decades in LA previously. The Chargers? Three total seasons. Additionally the Chargers claimed their spot in LA after the Rams announced their move, and they’ll be playing in a stadium owned by the Kroenkes. The Rams shouldn’t change their look because the little brother decided to move in, too. At the end of the day, the Chargers can still be distinctly different with either powder or navy blue.
