Ohio rivalry becomes high-scoring classic but ends in tie

The Toledo Tigers and Cleveland Buckeyes met at newly constructed Ohio Stadium on the Ohio State campus in their week 7 finale. With both teams at 6-0-0, this game was a de facto championship. The Buckeyes implemented a two-platoon system using owner Ward's funds and manhandled their way through the season with the only real challenge to that point being the Dukes. Toledo had the second smallest roster heading into the game and had only one player not going both ways but the coaching skill of Harold Forsythe was enough to bring them undefeated. In the first half Cleveland lead Toledo 33-7 after outmatching the Tigers with fresh bodies. Coach Forsythe ran trick plays including a reverse on opening kickoff and a punt, both for touchdowns by Marvin McGehee. The Buckeyes lead 43-40 with 5 seconds left when QB Leopold Francois kicked a 53 yard field goal, longest in association history, for the tie.

Cosmopolites play lose 5 games, still wins heart of Chicago

The Chicago Cosmopolites were thrown together months before the season started and were expected to play just as bad as the Keystones they replaced given how little time they had to prepare. The Cosmopolites defied the odds and played very well given the circumstances. They never lost by more than 10 except against the Dukes who they lost to by 20. The Cosmopolites are selling out Wrigley Field in a way that IFC never has. If that wasn't enough they routed the Italians 27-0 in their week one matchup.

Indy loses star running back early in season

Speedsters running back and fastest man in association, Frank Grey, broke his leg in the second quarter of their week one matchup against the Maroons. Following his injury he was out the remainder of the season and is considering retirement. Indy only beat IFC following the loss of their star player

Congrats Tigers, wouldn’t be surprised to see the Cosmos run IFC out of town

IFC is supported by the local parishes and families. It's probably the team most integrated with it's community. It would take a massive financial crisis to see something like that stop...

So basically IFC will live until the great depression, but no further?
