Compared to the rest of the league, the busy stripes and garish side panels are embarassing to look at, let alone wear. That said, I appreciate the attempt to inject some life back into the identity. IceCap
Just now, bosrs1 said: That was my reaction. What military bases are around Anaheim? Burke had a hardon for West Point. Apparently the original plan for the Ducks’ redesign was to use forest green, orange, and gold but Burke changed it at the last minute to black, orange and gold to better match West Point’s colour scheme. As admiral said? We had users here in the know who were shocked when the Ducks’ new primary colour ended up being black and not green. It was a Burke-mandated change as late into process as possible. It seems like the West Point colour scheme was a consolation prize for Burkey after he couldn’t convince ownership to be the Warriors, Patriots, or Minutemen. What is it with NHL execs and West Point anyway? Between Burke and the knob who owns the Knights... They like the “all military, all the time” attitude, but they don’t want to associate with the “plebian” enlistees. Again, some of it is appealing to commonly-accepted symbols of masculine power. I’d be curious to see how many of these man are dealing with inadequacies. 32 minutes ago, Dodgeryaqui8016 said: This might be off topic but I have seen many instances on the road here in Arizona with cars that have the special licence plate, "Arizona veteran" with all the military stickers, DTOM, blue line on the flag, rebel flag and maybe even a Trump/anti-liberal media sticker seem to think that because they have all of that they have the license to be an on the road. The guys at Regular Car Reviews (my favorite YouTube channel) pointed out that type of guy several times. They outlined the “all military, all the time guy” and the “former military ‘sovereign citizen’ uncle” types. These are truly terrible people to deal with on a regular basis. Burke always claimed Camp Pendleton as part of the Ducks' efforts. Had player trips down there to visit with troops multiple times. In OC, there's the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training and Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach. Yes, Pendleton borders OC to the South, but Burke is reaching there, especially considering the Gulls weren't close to Ducks property yet. And, as I said earlier, the two in-OC installations of Los Alamitos and Seal Beach aren't nearly enough to claim some sort of "military culture" in the area to justify the names he wanted to use. As per usual, it's Burke blowing smoke. He's the Donald Trump of hockey management. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |

All of his clothes were oversized fatigues he got at the BX (not even sure how he got them as he was about Tank’s size), and he blabbed relentlessly about all of the “confirmed and unconfirmed kills” he had when he was in the military (considering his age, this would’ve been around the time of Desert Storm so, lol). I probably took more joy than I should’ve when his mom outed him to everyone that he was never in the military, and never even tried to join. His sad excuse was that he was “secret special ops” and even his family couldn’t know because it was just so top secret. Why are are people like this? In my experience people who saw legit action in the military are very hesitant to talk about it and don't like it brought up.
