And everything else is close to top notch. 8.5 or 9 out of 10 College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vtgco Posted February 21, 2019 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I agree with @jus2damcrazey219, the presentation is very well done. The home script is really awesome. The cap logo is nicely done, too. My issue is with the San Diego wordmark. It feels kinda out of place in this identity. I'd rather see another PCL-inspired script or just the SD monogram, personally. I really like the main set, the friar and the Padres script are nice. There might be a few too many throwback options you have present, but it’s hard to complain about that. Overall, great job! I think you were trying to harken back to the 90s' roundel style...which is a cool idea...but the mismatch didn't work. Love the wordmark and the jerseys. vtgco Posted February 22, 2019 Share Posted February 22, 2019 Much better! The year really completes out the roundel, too. The new gray jersey fits in well, and looks as beautiful as the rest! Getting a bit nitpicky, I'd maybe swap the alternate caps between the yellow and gray jerseys, and try white or yellow scripts on the camo jerseys (I know they don't do that now, but it would help legibility). If I'm going to nitpick, I'd suggest switching the ALT Away cap to solid brown, and adding some yellow to the home cap. I'm a little unsure about the mismatched fonts on the primary logo....it'd read funny, but if you used the "Padres" font and switch the order (Padres up top, San Diego on the bottom), it would fit.
