I don't think Uncle Sam is the right image for the Patriots logo. Sammy represents the US government. My 2 cents. I'm not sure how many (if any) recent logo designs have featured white or black (or red) faces. It seems to be that they just do the face in one of the team's colors (like flying elvis.)
