They don't really look like wands and I don't get what orange slices on metal chopsticks has to do with the wizards. jk, though. goforbroke Posted July 21, 2005 Share Posted July 21, 2005 I love the uniforms but i think that the front won't come out looking as good as the back because it looks like the stripes just kind of end at the waist. i like the idea of the back - sort of a mix betweent the raptors and sonics - but for the front try to have the stripes line up with the front of the shorts. the colors look amazing though-- that would finally be a good black alt.im not exactly sure whats going on in the secondary logo?... but i do like how it looks on the shorts. maybe just the starburst with a large "dc" would be enough.one last thing-- real nit picky - but i think the jerseys could use either a shoulder-blade logo or a waisteband logo - i know this would be like jumping on the bandwagon but i personally think it spruces up the jerseys. i dont really like the neckline logos though so good call on leaving that out,. Given how long of a word "WASHINGTON" is, the numbers look even smaller by comparison.Not sure about the secondary; "orange slices on chopsticks" is a good call. (And one of the funniest I've read... nice work patsox.) I'm not a fan of the primary either but you worked with what they gave you, so I am not blaming you. The color scheme is nice, and the wordmarks are great. But considering how wretched their logos are, this could give you the chance to start from scratch. "Start spreading the news... Replaced with crescent moon over sunburst.-Added dc logo above player name.-Player names now larger.-Numbers on the front are now larger.-Gold outlined player names on home jersey (I think it looks better then black).-Adjusted the striping on the front of the jersey to better match the shorts.-Added primary and secondary logos to all shorts.I think thats all. Saying it stands for "Columbia" will be an awfully tough stretch to sell. Sadly, I don't have an easy answer to this one for you.The uniforms are sweet, but McCall's point is a good one - having mismatching logos on the front thighs and nothing in the black insert panels looks cluttered and awkward. I'd go with one and move them to the sides.And I would move the front numbers down from the wordmark, and make them bigger still. These guys tend to have long torsos, and making the number so small and so close to the wordmark is going to leave a lot of empty space on the fronts of the jerseys.These are lookin' good!
