goforbroke Posted July 25, 2005 Author Share Posted July 25, 2005 im gonna reiterate what i said before.. these arent to replace their logo. these are just to see what it would look like if it were real. like if someone actually made a 3d version of the logo... and maybe put it on the side of the stadiun or something. probably my most hated logo is the new jersey nets. i absolutly think shading and shadows have no place in sports logos. we all know what everyone thought of the pistons logo from 3 years ago with the big glare on the ball... and i dont think many people liked the old heat logo with the orange to yellow gradient. logos they should be simple and 2d and have think, defined colors.what im doingg here is taking 2d logos and showing what they might look like in 3d form. again-- theres are NOT ideas to replace what these teams allready have. and for people who say whats the point.. the point is it was fun to do. whats the point of anything anyone does here? whats the point of showing ur uniform concepts or ur 10,000 new logos for the blue jays? its just fun to do.thanks for the nice words for those of u that like them. for people that are asking me to do one for them just keep in mind i probly wont do logos that have mascots on them. those just wont look right. unless it is a very undetailed one like the bills or lions. Usually, related concepts by the same person are posted in the same thread, especially if they're going to be posted over a short period of time. There are many examples; I'm not going to dig up the specific URLs myself, as that's what the search function is for, but you can look for such things as AgainstAllOdds's NBA redesigns, IronChefShark's state hockey jerseys, etc. A series of different designs, but running on a common theme.This is a related set of logos, all posted over the course of six days (the first being posted last Tuesday). It fits the same guidelines. So, the moderation team would appreciate it if you would follow these precedents to try and keep the topic list relatively uncluttered.Thank you. I tried making a 3D logo after i read this topic to see how long it would take and i got through the addition of effects pretty quickly but it took me like a half an hour to clean it up. The counterexamples you offered would include several disparate styles by a number of different people. Why would you lump them together?That said, I'm liking them. All you must do is separate the logo in different layers, then each layer is worked with effects (click right button of the mouse over the selected layer in the layers' window and choose "Blending Options")I did it since Photoshop 4 or 5 (when the layers appeared by first time in Photoshop).
