ottawa senators modifications

i wouldn't call this a concept, just a modification.

the ottawa senators have three jerseys, a home, a road, and an alt. nothing wrong with that, a lot of teams do it. the problem is that each jersey is it's own desighn. this leavs the senators' uniforms lacking uniformaty. imo if any of the three jerseys were to be a base for a senators re-desighn it should be the black alt. imo it's the best one they've had, except for the awful 3-d logo.

so what i did here was to come up with a home and road jersey set for the sens using the current black alt as base. i also did away with the 3-d logo.

here it is, c&c welcome.

Another reason to get rid of the 3D sens logo. Tom Green is a huge Sens fan and his favorite jersey is the black one with the 3D Sens logo. Any time you have something that Tom Green likes, you know you have to get rid of it :wacko:

These are good. I'd rather see anything than the red jersey with the stupid arc/stripe that they currently wear.

But I really wish the Sens would go all the way back to their original duds. I may be all alone here, but I loved this set:

I've always said this is what they should do for their home/roads--create a white version of the alt. Though, I think I like the 3-D logo a little better on it, and I still hate the Peace Tower logo, it's pitifully boring.

(And, dgnmrwrw, please, no... those black jerseys were dull and awful.)

When they added white to that dull black jersey ('95-96) it became the best looking Sens jersey of the bunch:

I prefer the 3d logo to the flatman...coincidentally, I also like Tom Green :hockeysmiley:

what that has to do with anything, I'm not sure :P

Hey, Tom Green is from Ottawa ... :D

I like the 3D logo as well. I've always thought a white version of the current road jersey (the red one) would look pretty cool.

I don't use this smiley often, but.....

:puke:

Gah. The red is bad enough. I've seen amateur teams do white versions of it, and it's dreadful. DREADFUL, I say.

I disagree completely. It looked just as bad to me.

And worse yet... there were white numbers on the white stripes! GAH!

Okay, the white numbers on white stripes were a bad decision, but they did change it the following year to black numbers. The white stripe at the bottom seemed to pick up the face of the centaurion, and I just thought it looked incredible. Just enough red and white on a black jersey. Just my thoughts.

I always wanted that black jersey but never bought because the replicas always looked terrible and I couldn't afford the authentic.

IMO i like the fact that all the jersey have there own designs. It gives the sens a unique presence

If a lack of consistency in their visual package is unique, then yeah, they are unique - but I don't think they'd want to be distinctive for a lack of uniformity and cohesiveness.

I have to disagree and side with Icecap. It always looked to me like the Sens were auditioning each style to see which one they'd settle on for all three. And they forgot to pick a winner.

I liked the first sets from the "New Senators" (a/k/a The Norm MacIver Era), but the lettering/numbering they have now on the homes/alts is something truly their own. I see the font, I think Ottawa Senators. I see the road set, not only do I think Dallas Stars (or Oilers... or Ducks...), but it looks like the manufacturer forgot that they changed up the other two jerseys and left these plain for the road.

As for the swoosh arc, I could take it or leave it. With the traditional profile Senator crest, it looks juxtaposed and horribly postmodern. If they chose to stick the 3-D or X-line crest on the alt, the arc would be fine. Personally, I'd rather not see it, but it's something different. Just not necessary - the laurel wreath striping is unique enough and looks classy at the sleeves and waistline.

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

well what does he know, VD. after all, he IS a sens fan :P

i'm kidding, but as a leafs fan it's my duty to kid

but seriously, the sens need to pick a style. i agree with VD. are they unique? yes. in a good way? no.
