No they have worn that since last year its there Sunday hats, they are an eyesore.

I think you misunderstood the initial post. I think this may be the first time they have worn the regular caps with the alt jerseys.

Wait ... the tomahawk A caps are the Sunday caps ... they were introduced at the same time as the red alts. This is the first I've heard of them wearing the red alts with the regular caps.

They have flags on their hats for Memorial Day.  I guess they only put them on game caps and not the alts.  The Dodgers also have flags on their caps.

it's memorial day, all teams wear u.s. flags on their caps on memorial day, july 4th, and sept 11th... including the jays tonight in toronto (here i go again)

So if the Jays, a team that calls its home Toronto, which is a city in Canada wear a U.S. flag on their caps, shouldn't all the teams that call a city in America their home wear a Canadian flag on their Caps for Canada Day?

This is starting to sound kind of like a recent discussion I had over why both national anthems are played at hockey games...

yes they should

if a sport like hockey, baseball and basketball has both american teams and canadian teams and if american flags are worn by every team for american holidays then canadian flags should be worn by every team for canadian holidays.

The Braves are wearing their red alternates today however instead of the tomahawk A logo cap they are wearing the regular A cap with them. Is this first time this year or have they been doing this?

Were they? I couldn't tell, John Thomson was sweating too much.

No, they shouldnt. United Statian league. If A US city had a CFL franchise, they'd wear canadaian flags, and not be expected to wear the US flag.

Simple.

Also, I noticed the regualr hat with the Sunday jersey. I also noticed the Sunday jersey being worn on Monday.

The flag reason is the only legitimate guess I've heard do far.

Well actually they wouldn't... I don't remember seeing the Sacramento Gold Miners wearing the league-wide Canada125 patch in 1992.

I don't see a reason why the jays couldn't wear a canadian flag or a dual can-usa flag patch instead... why can't we honour our veterans too?

This is actually a pretty good debate. I'd be interested in hearing it play out.

I would say that for a league whose founding took place, a vast overwhelming majority of teams oare located in, and is associated strongly with, one particular country, that would be the flag to be associated with.

I cant speak to the Gold Miners, I was only a junior executive with the team at the time, so my vote was really just honorary. :P

Your point of honoring canadian veterans is well taken. Does the upper united states have its own holiday to celebrate its vets with overdrinking and burning burgers on the grill?

do you guys think an all blue cap with the regular A would look good with the red alts? I think it might, you would need to keep the red button though.

I wish the Braves would have an all-navy hat for either their home and away games (similar to what the Cubs do). I prefer the non-colored brim.

I have a hat similar to this one:

I think it'd look pretty sharp with their home uni's.
