Some of the best upsets have taken place because the best of 5 series demands a high level of play from the beginning. Slip up and you could find yourself upset pretty quickly. They have removed that distinctive element of the playoffs now, and personally, I think the intensity of the best of 5 series increased interest in the rest of the playoffs.
