And your Vancouver 2010 Olympic Mascots are:

Miga is a mythical First Nations sea bear that is part killer whale and part Kermode spirit bear.

Miga was based on the legends of the Pacific Northwest First Nations of orca whales that transform into bears when they arrive on land, but is also a snowboarder.

Quatchi is a sasquatch, but a shy and gentle giant, that loves all winter sports, and is especially fond of hockey and dreams of becoming a world-famous goalie.

The third mascot, Sumi, is an animal-guardian spirit who wears the hat of the orca whale, flies with the wings of the mighty Thunderbird and runs on the furry legs of the black bear.

The three creatures' sidekick is Mukmuk, a rare Vancouver Island marmot.

Still deciding how I feel about them. I suppose having multiple mascots makes for more merchandise opportunities.

So cute I could pee. Where's Mukmuk?

Haven't seen a photo of him yet. For reference, this is a Vancouver Island Marmot, which is one of the most endangered species in Canada:

i wish that the mascots in costume were to the same proportions as they are in the cartoon graphic at the top of this board, i wanna see a huge sasquatch, and a small little orca girl.

I'm no expert on this, but do these look more Japanese art inspired than anything?

Hello Kitty's friends?

I wasn't going to say anything at first, but they do have a vaguely Sanrio vibe to them...

That said, they are your typical Olympic mascots-overkill cute, cuddly, and attractive, but they do nothing for me.

It's just a style of art used to create the characters, i mean if they were to create the mascots with native art, kids would totally freak out. So far, kids love it and really it's all about making the big bucks, mom's, kid's, collectors and people that are going to be attending the 2010 Olympics will buy the stuff, as usual.

I took me a few viewings of the mascots to fully warm up to them.

I never ever like olympic mascots. i get the idea of them but they always seem way overdone and weird... pedophile animals and weird combination of animals and stuff... but i have to admit. as a goalie mask artist i love sumi's lid... i dont care what anyone says.. that is a goalie mask. :) and i agree about the ear muffs... wtf? going with the native theme i wonder if they are made of cute baby seal fur... whap..... jesus i'm going to hell aren't I?

I'd like to see those mascots put in the same room as this guy:
